Sad thing, I had to look at the calendar to see just what day of the week this was! Hope everyone is having a good day. Jess, still got you in my prayers.

I am thinking of taking a time out from VJ and the group. I need to put my focus elsewhere for awhile. I may be around but just not as active. I can't make myself happy here and I'm obviously rubbing others wrong too.

Hoping for more good news for everyone. We were kind of on a roll.

Good idea to make the disclaimer that you might be around, just not as active - you'll get into less trouble that way! LOL

Well, since I can't access yahoo from work, I wanted to share with you all that Wadi's green card was approved today!!!!! Just got an e-mail update this morning. :dancing:

I can't wait to tell him, but he's still sleeping..... He's going to have teeth pulled today, so I hope this news will make it a little less painful!

I hope everyone is healthy, happy, and safe...

Jenn

We may be going to a parade tonight if it doesn't rain inshaAllah. It's the annual aquatennial here, but it's either been too damn hot or raining to go to anything.

Hopefully things will improve in time for the state fair. That's something everyone has to take their SOs to when they get here, pure good ol fashion american fun. What better way to be fully aclimated to the United States other than eating fried corn on a stick and dancing the polka? We have an odd tradition here in Minnesota where the food venders try to fry up something more bizare on a stick each year, and then the local news channels babble endlessly about it for the entire state fair.

On NPR this morning, Rep. Ray Lahood of Illinois said that the evacuations would be free of charge. He represents a large constiuancy of Lebanese americans and has a few hundred of his constituants in Lebanon right now, so I'm guessing he's pretty much in the know about what's going on and is a driving force with the evacuation.

Happy Wednesday everyone.

I heard on the news that they are evacuating people but they have to pay, and if they can't pay upfront then they have to sign an IOU. How much is it?
