Expedited Citizenship

Hi. It's been such a long time since I last been active here. VJ and it's members had been such a huge help for me during my K-1 visa process journey and I thank each and everyone for that.

Now I am here again in search for help. I just got my AOS approved and have my 10 year GC. My husband will be working back in Iraq as a contractor. My question is if am I eligible to apply for expedited citizenship given the chance that he will be working in Iraq?

you don't have to wait til your 10-yr GC expires. once you reach your 3-yr wedding anniv and other reqs for citizenship, your good to apply.

but as far as rights, you're being a LPR is ALMOST the same as being a USC (difference is getting a passport and voting)

another difference between LPR/USC is that USC can stay outside the USA for very long time and have no issues returning.

I think that applies if your husband is deployed and if he is taking you with him. Since Iraq is a war country, I doubt he can take you. So you might not be able to apply for citizenship until 90 days before the 3rd year of your green card was granted.
