Do you guys have an investigation number at the VSC yet? (the one they say call back in 30 days if they don't call you) If it's been 2 weeks, they will take a call for status on that investigation number.

But just for record sake, I wanted to post what i got today:

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On July 31, 2006, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information

in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If

you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 30 days have passed and

you have not received the notice. Please contact the service center where you

submitted your application during business hours.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results

listed above, or if you have not received a decision or advice from USCIS within the

projected processing time frame*, please contact the National Customer Service

Center.

National Customer Service Center (800) 375-5283.

I called the VSC yesterday and they told me they recieved my paperwork on 07/22 though I don't know if I can believe anything they say. Also for all I know it was lost since they recieved it. It looks like t&s is in the same unhappuy state.

Any advice from members here on what we can do? :help:

I think the only advice given so far. Try and contact congressmen, etc. I know. Recess. Anyway. Now that VSC has your petition back, wait for an update saying it's been reopened. :)

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

I've been waiting on my Congressman to get back to me. I sent them an official letter on July 18, and they sent me an official letter saying that they started an investigation. No news yet. I think we have such high hopes that VSC will get to our cases, we get let down again and again.

Well, well. Lots happened while I'm on vacation with my sweetie. Looks like the list is down to 3 MIA, timmarciel, bkk, and milestogo.

Miles, I'm sure that they finally located our petitions at NVC in the same week, sent them back to VSC in the same week. Why your case hasn't been re-opened is strange, for lack of a better word. I would call up VSC again and ask to speak with a supervisor, and use my re-opened date july 26th) as a comparison. Get the supervisor's name, tell them you expect them to find your file and re-open it (a more concrete answer than 'it's here') by the next time you call back (in another 2 days time) or you will be making a written complaint to the ombusdman and mention them by name.

That's my advice!

I finally got the email that my case has been reopened and an RFE is coming my way. Over 90 days after that fateful call from the embassy cancelling our interview. USCIS - the paragon of efficiency and customer service :ranting:

Now it's on to stage two - how wonderfully quick and fair the process of approval and interview rescheduling will be. Do you all realize we would have been better off filing from scratch after the new forms came out?
