Hello everyone, my name is Mindy and I've been lurking for a few weeks now and finally decided to start posting. Reading this thread is like reading a novel, it was fun to start at the beginning and read the stories, ups/downs and all arounds that everyone has experienced. I've found this forum to be a lifesaver so thank you thank you thank you.

I live in Portland, Oregon. My fiancée is from Montego Bay and we met almost 1.5 years ago. I've submitted my I-129F and have rec my first NOA. I have some questions regarding things I've seen posted.

ok..

I see/read you guys talking about pictures of weddings etc... but don't know where you go to view them or is it by private e/mail ??

It looks like everyone's signature has a ticker/timeline that is different than the one in "My profile" how do you do that?

Are there any topics that are OFF LIMITS?? I REALLY enjoyed the discussion regarding adjusting to life in the U.S and challenges that you've had in your relationships. It's a great heads up.

I will be going to JA Sept 3-11.. woo hoo... I was there for a month May 12th - June 10th and was planning on NOT returning till the interview or to fly home together but just could not go that long without seeing my honey! I know you cannot get a "guesstimate" but by what I've seen it seems like it will take a minimum of 6 months but more liked 6-8 months (knock on wood/cross you fingers/ well you know what I mean)

I've had contact directly with a couple people from this forum and want to say THANK YOU ! I really appreciate you taking the time to connect with me and offer your support. :luv:(L)

Looking forward to the journey ahead.

Mindy ( mangogirl ) because I LOVE LOVE LOVE mango's !! and not just the fruit but mango daiquiris (sp?), mango margaritas, mango martini etc...

3/30/05 Met in Montego Bay

10/23/05 Returned to Jamaica for 8 days

5/06 - 6/06 1 month in Jamaica

7/5/06 Priority Mailed I-129F to NSC

7/7/06 e/mail confirmation from usps packet delivered

7/14/06 Check Cashed

7/17/06 Rec NOA 1

7/25/06 Touched

Jamaica got into my heart,it whispered to my mind,my mind told mi body, and we all said ahhhhh.

Welcome Mindy(mangogirl)!

There is a JA/US group on yahoo where you will see pics of a lot of couples on VJ. If you ask in the yardie thread someone may tell you how to sign up. I do know that the moderater is currently on her honeymoon though.

You can also add your timeline to your signature. I see that you have already added something there so you know how to get to that feature.

Congrats on getting your NOA1 and best wishes on the rest of your journey.

Welcome you mango lush!:lol: Just kidding!! :luv: Glad to have you aboard. I love mangos too. Henry just gave me a nice East Indian mango he got in St. Thomas (the parish not the island). It was delicious and tasted so "authentic". LOL

Good Luck with the rest of your journey.

If you are looking for tickers counting down certain dates/events, you can make one on www.tickertag.com. When you are done copy the one in the box that says bb code and paste it into your VJ signature. Hope that helps.

welcome to vj... you will find so much here... you will find lots of information to guide you thru your own vj... make sure to spend some time going thru the FAQ and Guides tabs at the top of each vj page... almost all information you need will already be there waiting for you... even answers to questions you didnt know you already have!

you will also find lots of support and ppl willing to share their experiences... and there is a forum called "off topic" for all those discussions that you might feel are not appropriate in the other forums...

if you look to the side of my post (or any users), you will see a place that you can click to see my timeline and my photos... this is where you will find pics of ppls weddings and such, unless they provide a link to another site in one of their posts

best of luck!!!
