Just so you know, if you're there at 7:30 you will NOT be out by 11. Just saying, we were out at 11, and were there at 7.

And for the financial stuff? We brought a letter from his employer and his W2 from last year. No questions were asked.

The thing is, Nov 20 has a lot of visa journey folks. So at 6:30, there will be a long line already. Last Friday's visa event had majority of the people from VJ and so the line was long by 7.

And the best part of being first in line is you can line up directly in front of the door and its slightly "inwards" the building so you are shielded from the wind. :)

Finally married... and still married... ;)

Green card received: March 18, 2011

Removal of Conditions:

GC Expiration: March 11, 2012

Documents sent: December 13, 2011

NOA-1 received: December 15, 2011

Check cashed: Red said yes when asked

Biometrics: January 25, 2012

Letter approving 10-year GC: September 7, 2012

Production of 10-year GC: September 15, 2012

Ok my plan is to set the clocks ahead a few hours and Sean won't notice the difference!

Can we build a bonfire in front of the Consulate to keep me warm?

Just wear a thick coat and very thick socks. Cover your head, your neck and your hands to prevent loss of heat. I actually brought a trash bag thinking that I would sit outside, but ended up just standing up.

And there is a Tims Horton near by :) My fiance and I had some hot coco and coissants in front of the consulate :P

Seriously, I felt that I didnt wait very long during the line. I think the nerves get to you and I personally felt that it had not been an hour since we stood outside. And the people in line are good companions!

I think it would have been more difficult to wait for other couples to finish their interview to get your turn :P

Anyway this is just how my fiance and I felt -- each to his own right? Our goal was to be one of the first five couples in, thinking that it would minimize the super long wait -- which I think it did. The first five couples were given "letters" and guaranteed to leave within the first 1.5h.

Im sure there are some folks out there who plan to be earlier than 6:30 :P

Finally married... and still married... ;)

My fiance was freezing his butt off, it was actually kinda funny.

He was wearing a jacket, hat, gloves, etc.

I was standing around in a sweater with no winter stuff on

That's actually a great idea. Except I don't drink coffee, but I'll have a hot tea with milk!

I want to be there between 630-7. We don't have to rush anywhere after the interview, so I'm not too worried how long we're there.

Sucks that we're not allowed food....I'd like a snack if we get hungry.

There's a vending machine in the consulate, but it's 1.50 per item.
