I am making a Table of Contents for everything I am bringing.

Do I really need to bring a copy of his immunizations if that was transcribed at the medical?

Also, I get confused at the large amounts of copies people are making.

I am going to make one copy of everything.

What do I need more than 1 copy of?

Thanks in advance and help me save a tree!

I am answering my own question about the P3 stuff but what about copies for the other stuff? One of each? I made 2 of each for the I-134.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...mp;cty=Montreal

Updated 10/27/2009

Please note, P3's of July 2009 and later no longer include the forms... instead, the following is included in the cover letter:

"In order to continue processing this case, please complete and return to this office at the above address, attention Immigrant Visa Unit:

Form DS-230 Part 1 - one copy, available online at

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html

Form DS-160 - one copy, available online at

https://ceac.state.gov/genniv

Form DS-156K - one copy, available online at

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html

Form DS-156 - two copies, available online at

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html

Confirmation receipt regarding Form DS-160 - one copy available online at

https://ceac.state.gov/genniv

and Checklist (enclosed) indicating you have obtained the required documents"

Because Montreal requests the full DS-160 five page printout, MAKE SURE TO COMPLETE THE FORM IN INTERNET EXPLORER. Firefox does not currently print your form correctly at the end (it only prints three of the five pages); IE is known to print it correctly. (If other browsers are known to print it successfully, please update this. I have only tested those two.)

NOTE (as of April 8, 2009): Even though the new on-line DS-160 replaces the DS-156 form, the interview date letter (packet 4) stated to complete and bring 2 copies of the DS-156. At the interview, the agent confirmed this was still required and will collect it from you, even though the packet 3 checklist does not state it as a requirement. The embassy will hopefully correct this conflicting information soon. So be prepared to complete and bring 2 copies of the DS-156 form, just in case.

Doubles of everything, for myself, was simply for sanity's sake.

Figured if the initial woman processing the paperwork took something, and then the interviewer wanted to see that document, at least I had an extra.

Seems like everyone has done the medical part of the process. Mine is coming up. I'm really confused as to what I should bring to the Medical. I know I need my vaccinations and any pertinent medical info but what do I need in regards to my K-1 visa application forms. I just sent my Packet 3 back. Will I be receiving more paperwork that I have to bring with me? Also, if it turns out that i need any shots is there an option to get them there?

Whether or not you can get your vaccinations at the medical depends on where you're having it done. Montreal, I believe, give this option. I was told over the phone that Toronto does not.

You'll need proof of your K1 process - most of the use the interview letter (p4) but a copy of P3 or your NOA2 will do fine, I'm sure.

You need a record of your vaccinations, in accordance to your age group.

You also need your passport, three 2x2 passport photos (U.S. sizing) and a letter from your doc regarding any ongoing medical conditions/treatment you have (only if you have an ongoing condition or treatment - if not, this isn't necessary).

Anyone going with you also requires some sort of ID to get in.

Do you have your P4 letter? A copy of that will suffice. If not, a copy of the cover letter for your P3 will be fine. Whatever has your case # on it. They won't even keep it. Don't forget you need 3 passport photos as well. And the fee. I don't know if there's an option to get last minute vaccines there. I would sort of doubt it. Are you getting it done in Toronto?

Its probably best for you to determine if you have completed all the vaccinations you are required to. This website gives you a list of those requirements:

http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/Immunizations.htm

Some vaccines need to be completed and they can't all be administered at the same time (ie. theres a waiting period before you can get the second shot, etc. and you need to finish the series before they will mark off your sheet). Gardasil is one you just need to start the first shot. And for chickenpox, you just need an oral confirmation that youve had chickenpox as a kid, if you did.

I would suggest to go through your vaccine records and mark off those that are in the list -- and if you need to get some, get them before the medical.

Also, you need P3 or P4 to get a schedule for the medical and to get in the building -- they will look at it and confirm that you are applying for whatever visa youre applying.

If you have pre-existing medical conditions, are taking any medications, etc, you need to bring them/documentation for them. I wear glasses/contacts so I brought my unused contact lens boxes and a copy of my prescription.

Goodluck!

Sounds good! You def need your own passport bio page and it would be good to photocopy your passport in case it gets lost etc., since you are leaving it there.

I think cdn_gewel was asked for a photocopy of her fiance's birth certificate. I -think- its because she submitted as part of her fiance's original I-129F petition, and I guess anything you submit from that petition is fair game.

But if your fiance is coming with you, I dont think they would ask that...? Because he would have to bring his passport to get in the building. But if you are going alone, maybe its a good idea to ask a copy for his passport bio page and/or his birth certificate.

I have half a mind to tell Ben to scan his support docs and send me the copies... Not that it'd be much good without the originals at the interview, but still...

I just can't think of a proper excuse to give him, outside of "just in case", haha.

"Um, they want me to pre-mail them to the Consulate..."

That's quite the folder!

Mine just had 4 slots too, I wasn't sure if they would let me bring it in, so I just mae sure to get something small and clear.

On my interview, one woman brought a huge clear bin with tons of hanging folders and they made her take everything out and leave the bin at the front. That was unfortunate!
