I'm definately down to help update the wiki, especially now that so many things have changed at MTL with regards to the packet and instruction letter.

In fact...I'm going to go through and see if I can dig up the new Packet 3 and such and get them linked right now :D

What's the date on your packet 3? Not sure if you have the old or new one.

This is also a good time to do it, since about a kabillion of us have interviews in Montreal all around the same time. lol

I have the old one, so I need someone who has a copy of the new one to scan it for me please (Mine's from July) so that I can link it. I have the new P4 though so I should be able to scan that in myself and get it linked.

Its been a while for me! But I will tell you what I brought:

1) The required forms (if you didn't send them back with the packet 3): DS 156 (x2), DS 156k, DS 160 (2 copies of the confirmation page and the entire transcript)

2) Evidence of Support (I-134)- For evidence we brought the petitioners tax transcripts from 2008, his W2's, a letter from his employer explaining the nature of his job and his position, and 2 months of recent pay stubs. I haven't heard many of you talking about this, but pay stubs are a really good idea, especially if you don't have an employer letter. It shows recent and ongoing income, which you may be asked for depending on how strict the IO is.

3) Police Clearance

4) Medical package (you don't need the Xray, so don't bother)

5) Long form birth certificate+ copy

6) Passport (for beneficiary and petitioner if attending)+ copy of beneficiary's bio page

7) $131 visa fee

8) Letter of intent to marry from the petitioner

9) Evidence of an ongoing relationship- You will probably not be asked for this at all, especially if your fiance(e) is attending, so don't go crazy! We brought some new pictures of us together, a wedding invitation and a recent phone bill to show ongoing communication but weren't asked for any of it.

10) Passport photos

11) Interview letter (P4) they won't let you in the building without it! If you get the same security guard I did, he will inspect it for a good 15 seconds to make sure everything matches up.

12) Copy of original I-129F petition (if you have it, you probably won't need it)

13) Your NOA1 and NOA2 (although you probably won't need it, not until AOS)

I think that's it! The hardest part of the interview is preparing for it

someone who is smarter and more together than me please begin/add to the list here.

Here goes!

1) your passport and a copy of it

2) DS156 & copy

3) DS156k

4) DS160 confirmation page

5) Birth certificate & copy

6) Police certificate issued withing 1 year of appointment date

7) Updated letter of Intent from Fiance

8) I-134 Affidavit of Support with proof (tax returns, letter from employer, co-sponsors affidavit & evidence if needed)

9) Prior marriage/death/divorce certificates if applicable

10) Court documents if applicable

11) Child documents if applicable

12) Proof of ongoing relationship (phone records, chat logs, new photos etc)

13) Canada Post Xpresspost mailer size 314mm x 394 mm (12"x15")

14) Medical Examination

15) Your appointment letter

16) $131 USD in cash

17) Passport photos (x2) for the visa

18) any originals of stuff you sent with the I-129F that you think they may ask to see (for example photos)

I think thats all.

I have our divorce decrees from previous marriage, but I do not have our marriage certificates from our previous marriages. Are they a requirement? I can understand why you would need the divorve decrees...proving you are free to marry, but what would be the point of the marriage certificates??/

some people have been asked to have their marriage certificates from the old wedding as well (don't ask me, I'd think the same as you) so I put it on the list as a precautionary thing.

A TON of the stuff that is on the Canada Wiki page was put on by trailmix. I know it took a lot of time to do. People who had thoughts about what could go on there, lists, copies of documents etc. could send them to her, and then she organized and posted same. Perhaps she'd still be willing to do this. I don't want to speak for her however. Perhaps PM her, and ask her, and she could update the info.

A couple days ago I scanned my complete packet 3 and 4 that I received from Montreal. Danu then updated the wiki with links to all the scans. I have the new packages that were recently changed, so this is about as updated as those documents get.

Not that I want to speak for Danu  but I'm sure she'd be glad to help too if there's anything else to add.

I ordered both the full marriage registration and the fancy marriage certificate, off the Ontario govt website, and it was super fast. FYI.

It was... really weird to see the marriage certificate. It looks all official and it kinda made me sad. But then I thought of J and the upcoming interview and I was less sad.
