Just because they are not posted on VJ , does not mean that there were no approvals , finding out the approval trend using receipt numbers is a very simple technique

Are you saying you go onto the USCIS online status and you just enter receipt numbers sequentially and find out the information???

It is not about what information is obtained, but it is about your own self-respect. If you feel looking up someone else' information is OK, regardless of how little information you find, then you don't respect yourself and you don't even show any dignity about yourself.

Oh please just cut the ####### , I dont need a freaking lecture from you about self respect .. blah blah blah.. if you are not smart enough dont tell the other person that you cannot be smart , grow up ..

Looking up someone's information ? what information ? just to see when the application was received and upto what date the processing has been complete ? what other information do I have ? so just zip your mouth and take your preachings somewhere else , just because you have been approved does not give you a right to come and preach here.. no one needs your blabbering anyway

If you want to argue with the government, go ahead, but I found this on their website:

Go down to around half the page, the question is:

Q. What is the receipt rule?

Third paragraph, this is what is states:

Q. What is the receipt rule?

...

The second type of receipt that an employee may present is a Form I-94 containing a temporary I-551 stamp and a photograph of the individual, which is considered a receipt for Form I-551. The individual must present the Form I-551 by the expiration date of the temporary I-551 stamp, or within one year from the date of issuance of the Form I-94 if the I-551 stamp does not contain an expiration date.

Okay

1) you get an I-94 at the prot of entry

2) when a person lands as a permamnet resident , he gets a temporary stamp om the I-94 at the port of entry

3) when a person becomes a permanent resident , the I-94 document issued at the port of entry is taken away

So stamped I-94 document can only be used when a person comes in a a permanent resident and still does not have the card and this is accepted as a proof of residency
