I am justing wondering if I, the beneficiary, should send DS-230I and OF-169 once the consulate has received my case? If not, could I send the two forms when the consulate has mailed the P3 package to me but before I actually receive the P3 package?

I heard some guys in the K1 subforum suggest doing so to accelerate the process but I am not sure if that's the case with GUZ.

Many thanks. Any reply is appreciated.

Have yer USC fella call DOS, ask for status every 2 days or so.

When the case status changes to 'P3 sent' - then follow my wiki entry instructions. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/GUZ_P3_Shortcut

On a different note.

The petition just got approved, and on it's way to NVC. I think you are getting ahead of yourself, much.

Have yer USC person CALL NVC now, get the NVC casenumber, and start asking -

How was the casefile sent?

Was it sent SOLELY via SAFEFILE, or DHL AND SAFEFILE ?

----

If SOLELY via SAFEFILE - then you'll have some speed. Otherwise - expect to wait 2 to 4 months for 'casefile opened' at GUZ.

----

Have him call NVC every day, until he gets an answer about how the petition was sent.

If sent via Safefile, wait ONE WEEK, then have HIM start calling DOS, to inquire about CASE STATUS, every day, looking for 'P3 sent' status.

----

Good Luck, slow down, and be patient !

Wait, I'm confused.

So call NVC for case number and ask if the casefile has been sent, and if sent, how was it sent?

What's the DHL tracking thing people are talking about then? (2-4 months?!!)

I was busy with work for the last week or so since receiving the NOA2 in the mail, should I start calling NVC now and ask if the casefile has been sent? Then call DOS? If it's P3 sent, we can use the shortcut?

Call and inquier. I did every other day and about 6 days later a guz case number was issued and the approved petition was sent. Shortly after I received a letter from the NVC saying the approved petition was being sent to Guz for processing. DHL trackit system was not very acurate as we were receiving emails that our package was in clearance delay long after p3 had been received.

Then call DOS? If it's P3 sent, we can use the shortcut?

Yup. absolutely. will shave off 2 to 5 weeks of wait time.

GUZ schedules the interviews, on a cycle, anywhere from 3 to 5 times each month.

So if you 'sent in the P3' on same day that DOS says 'P3 sent' -

you jump over, miss, 1 to 3 cycles.

and that was the entire point, ya?

to jump a cycle or two, get scheduled EARLIER.

Good Luck !
