As I post the Leafs, the greatest hockey team in the history of the universe :lol::lol: , are leading the Anaheim Mighty Ducks 3-2 at the end of the 2nd period. Will the Leafs finally win one or have I been using epoxy in a closed space without proper ventilation?

Damn. They're now up 4-2.

Well, they couldn't have lost all 82, could they?

I'm just glad they didn't get their first win at the expense of my Canucks on Saturday...though they admittedly played well enough to win.

Yes, and we die-hard hockey fans just looooove you "technical fans." :P

If the Leafs could only manage to technically prevent the technical puck from entering their technical net so often, they'd be a playoff contender. Technically speaking.

Well, I'd call myself a 'die hard' Leafs fan, as I have been for the last 16 yrs, thankyouverymuch... but I don't even watch hockey anymore... hence the qualifier of 'technically'. lol :P

And I think the Leafs won't technically make the playoffs this year. lol

Success! Its about time they won a game, yeesh.

The Leafs will always be my #1. I was born a fan and will die a fan!

I've also become a pretty big Avs fan since meeting my husband 4 years ago. We just went to a game Saturday night against the Wings and it was great! I wear a Avalanche #16 Darcy Tucker jersey... so really, I haven't completely abandoned my Toronto roots right? :P

I'm a pretty big hockey person. I don't refer to myself as a fan, as that would be an understatement. My brothers and I all played (although is pent most of my time playing ringette) and my oldest brother just stopped two years ago after a pro season in Georgia. My little brother is not playing in the German second division, trying to get to the first next year.

Any ways, what bothers me most about the Leafs..is that they have been horrible for SO many years..They must have one of the highest payrolls due to fan base, merchandise, etc., and they have NOT purchased any "great" players in the last few years. Like come on! look at their roster...With the money they have, they could be picking up some fast, young forwards..there are so many now in the league..and they refuse to succumb to the new NHL. The fast paced, fast moving, not based upon "big" guys anymore, NHL. I don't understand how that GM can make such bad decisions.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

It was only the ducks, shouldnt even count as a full win,lol

I don't think many players want to play in Toronto. one is always under the microscope, and besides, its the leafs, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I don't doubt that many guys might not want to go there because of that microscope feeling, Flames. But come on, you still have to compete! They are sooo lousy.

They suck just because of their ownership I think. You have that entire board of people running a team and not one of them cares about anything other than making money. Look how much bloody money they earn and they've sucked since Tim Horton played Lol.

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)
