Montreal does not let you have your visa right away. that is why you are required to bring in a Canada Post X-press mailer; so they mail it to you to the address you print on the envelope

As others have stated, it 99% a no, BUT doesn't hurt to ask,all they can do is say no,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Ive had my passport renewed and my siblings have applied for tourist visas for the US -- all this year. And all of them came the next day (maybe two business days for me). It seems like its reasonable to be able to get it within the week after your interview. But Ive reviewed 75% of all K1 filers from January 01 2008 and saw some that took almost 12 days before their envelops get to them. Anyway I guess we can just all hope -- I think Im going to ask them over email if I can use the priority next day am delivery, provided its size is acceptable.

Sigh I thought the stressing out about specific things is over now that the interviews been scheduled, but now I will stress out until I get the damn visa!

Finally married... and still married... ;)

I *know* this was discussed before, but I can't find it.

Can we do a "next business day" prepaid Xpresspost mailer? Though the non-next day is 2 business days.

I wouldn't see why it couldn't be the next business day, it just costs more money. Probably the reason it takes more time is more the consulate producing it and getting it out than the actual mailing, so a next business day envelope could still take time..

As in, I interview on a Friday, I may not have received it by the following Friday, if it takes a week or even 4 days to produce and get in the mail.

You can do whatever type of delivery you like, but that will only help once they're ready to mail it :) You can't make them work faster on the items they put in your passport or the package they put together....just saying
