Hello, everybody:

I have the following question which need your help:

I petitioned my brother on Jan 2002 (I-130);

On Oct 25, 2009, I received a notice saying that the application was tranfered to the National Visa Center; The notice indicated that "the NVC will contact the beneficiary concernign further immigrant visa processing steps";

However, my brother's address has been changed over these 7 years' of waiting period;

What should I do?

Should I send NVC a letter indicating the change of the address of my brother?

Really appreciate if someone drop me any information.

Thanks!

Since his address has changed then i believe you should file the form AR-11 (Alien's Change of Address).

Actually you could do it in 2 different ways, 1st, send it thru mail and 2nd, do it online.

You know where to find the form right? yes, go to uscis.gov and click on Forms.

Look under "More Informations" on the right hand side and click either on Change of Address or Electronic Change of Address, you may want to look at both to see which way you will want to use.

Hope it wont be too late for you to file this form since they require to submit this Change of address form within 10 days after completing the change of address. But it should be fine...please just do it as soon as you could, alright?

Read all the instruction carefully...

Oct 2005 - met my baby

Dec 2006 - he proposed

Feb 2007 - K-1 filed

Dec 2007 - K-1 Visa Interview (denied), the reason: i was overstayed my previous visit in 2000-2003 (my bad)

Feb 2008 - I-601 Waiver filed

Sept 2008 - Waiver approved (K-1 Visa issued)

Jan 2009 - the Wedding Blessing & Reception (Bali, Indonesia)

Feb 2009 - Arrived in the US followed by the Civil Wedding & Reception (again:)

March 2009 - AOS filed

April 2009 - Biometric

May 2009 - EAD card in hand

Aug 27th 2009 - AOS Interview (approved, yaay)

Sept 2009- Green Card arrived in the mail...yippeeeew...(i want to sing of Your Love forever)

June 2011 - ROC filed

July 2011 - Biometric

Dec 2011 - ROC approved (Best Christmas ever, i must've been a really good girl this year :)

The wait would be unbearable but it'll be worth it. It strengthens the love, it attaches you even more to each other, it shows how your man would do whatever it takes to be with you, that he will never give up on you because he LOVES you!! All the waits, stresses, tears, heartaches, all the miserable feelings you feel along the way will be paid off once you get what you've been hoping for...oh and WITHOUT PRAYERS? will be like trying to start a fire with water, JUST WON'T WORK!

Wow - 7 years..

Now - ya gotta do NVC Processing (YOU ) .

Have a read -

Paper Processing: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut

Electronic Processing - http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...onic_Processing

Give NVC a call tomorrow, inquire if an NVC casenumber is available yet (it all starts with that phone call ).

Gather up his original documents - and read all of the pages at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

Anyway - it's a lot of reading now.

The GUZ Supplemental Form will capture his current address.

If he needs to submit a new G-325A - this is the time to do so, include it with a copy of the DS-230 .

wei- save me some frozen moon cake? ;)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I thought that was useful for ppl who are already in the USA, or at least hold a greencard?

That's not the case with the brother, yet...

BIG PS -

It will take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks for the casefile to be 'opened' at NVC. I suggest you start calling 10 days past Oct 25th.

NVC Processing will take between 1 to 3 months, depending on how ya do it. Read the three links I posted, map out a plan on paper, get the forms and documents you need, start practicing ;)

Good Luck !

Visausa - IMO - that form letter was wrong.

Your brother may or may not receive instructions, at all.

If I WERE YOU (no wait - if YOU WERE ME !!! )

Start calling NVC hotline, get a human, about 2 weeks after this OCT 25 date. If there were NO PROBLEMS at USCIS, then a GUZ casefile will get assigned at NVC.

Once YOU have a GUZ casefile number at NVC, then it's time to start NVC processing - I've given you 3 links to study on 'what to do at NVC'. Start studying those now, map out a plan, tell yer brother to get some documents ASAP.

Ar-11 is only for people in the u.s. you need to call nvc and see if they will change his address (most of the time they won't) and tell you to send a letter to them (they do accept change of addresses by mail unlike uscis service centers). But many cases aren't there long enough for your letter to arrive before it gets sent out. If that happens (like in my case) the embassy will end up sending info to the wrong address but will send it to the correct address if you let them know. So don't worry about it, even if it makes it to the embassy with the wrong address everything can be fixed with a call/letter to the embassy. Also if for some reason you move to another country like we did you just need to have the embassy forward it to the correct embassy, so even in the most complicated nighmare it will be fine :)
