It was great. We went to the Memorial Day parade downtown. Then we got coffee at the local cafe and came home for lunch!

Greetings all. My name is Robert and I found it hard to navigate through VJ, but am learning the ropes better now. Sarah of VJ has been a big help to point me to this thread. She mentioned you might be of help when I posted a request for info. in the larger chat area earlier today

I have two questions that some of you might be fairly familiar in clarifying for my fiancee, Aruno, and me. Would greatly appreciate any helpful tips..

First, re: a bank draft that Aruno will be taking to the K-1 visa interview on the 29th of this month: is the grand total $350? The table that lists the fees seems a bit confusing. I thought the total might even be as much as much as $775 per the table. I am pasting the link with the table here.

http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/ivfees.html

Secondly, since she is delivering all the required papers, docs, letters, photos, my employment and tax statements [which I am hand carrying to India], etc. in a packet a week prior to the interview [per the requirement we understand], then there would not be much for her to take the very day of the interview, correct? [by the way, she arrived in Mumbai from Nagaland yesterday and will be in Maharashtra til the interview]

Thanking you in advance..really appreciate your help as we navigate closer to the interview day!

Robert ---my email address is robjerskey@yahoo.com My fiancee's email address is aruno_nakhro@yahoo.com, if you might cc to her.

Yay, this thread is alive again :P

Daniel, Adi and I spent last whole week in San Antonio (Daniel's conference and we tagged along, hotel was free). The night we reached there, Adi started teething really bad with 3 new molars. Except for spending our evenings in the hotel pool, the 2 of us did nothing except try and soothe the poor baby. I am still recovering from that holiday(?). Good to be back home.

I'm playing the role of the dutiful, docile housewife as Mr. Sachinky is at work. I cook, clean and bake all day as I await his return.

I need to find a job soon. Aw, lord.

In the meantime, yaay for FoodNetwork! <3

Uneventful, relaxing Sunday. Lots of soccer and beer. Yay for Germany!

It rained all morning and then it got really hot in the evening. I made fried rice and pork in a sesame and ginger sauce. Rustled up some bread pudding for dessert. I start work this week so I'm looking forward to getting out of the house.

My day started kind of earlier than usual. About 6 am heard some noise in the front yard. Went out to check and it was the neighbor's badly neglected dog scratching the door and crying. Tried to take her back, she would not go. Gave her some food & water. She ate like she never gets food. Alwyas left in the backyard, unattended for days without food and water, Poor thing. We have reported the neglect before to the police & they checked on the dog and told us to call the animal shelter if she gets out again. The police can't do anything while she is in owners property and not being physically abused. Well, the shelter said they will come to check on the dog, they have a checklist to determine course of action. Then they will either talk to the owner to take better care of the dog or if its bad enough, they will just take her. I hope they can do sometihng. It says a lot when a dog does not want to go back to its home.

Thankyou! I'll be working in a bank so I went shopping for nice, work clothes all morning. Mr. Sachinky got real bored but I had fun. Came back with four nice blouse/top thingies and two dress pants. One in black and one in tan!
