Hi,

I was unemployed and currently offered a job, but the employer will pay cash. When i deposit that money in my bank, can i use the bank statement to show my income. I want to pay tax on this money. I wont be having a pay stub. I have my tax return copies for the past 3 years where i made about 30k every year. It is only this year that i am struggling with the income. How will i report my income on I-864. Please let me know how can i get around this situation.

Thanks

Hi Jacy,

What stage of the process are you in??

Maybe by the time you guys get the interview, you might get a job that can give you pay stubs...

I don't know i had a similar situation...

I have been unemployed since early year, NVC sent the paperwork to my husband's embassy back in June, and at the time of his interview everything was fine except for the fact that i was unemployed (even though they saw my taxes for the past 3 years and all)

So they requested a joint sponsor to help us...

Good luck, hope you get thru with everything!!

Hello,

Have your employer write a letter to the NVC stating your hourly salary, number of hours you work, who you work for what you do and what is the projected income for the year, and also have them right that you get paid cash and not a check, and and have them sign it and send that with your affidavit of support stuff. I am sure they will NVC will see that you get paid cash and you will be fine.

Hope that helps
