Anyone have advice on what works well for ripping dvd's to .avi, etc.?

I can definitely speak for the WinXDVDripper - quality is very good and it outputs in a number of formats including .AVI, .Mov. You can also set the resolution for the Iphone, PSP etc.

I got it for free on a one-day special by the publisher the other week (you also get ripping programs on www.giveawayoftheday.com) - but its well worth the $20 they want for it.

DVD FAB is an excellent ripping tool! Way better than DVDShrink!

You can rip anything to any format.

Right again! DVDFAb is the best.

Decrypts all DVD.

VLC doesn't work as well as DVD FAB. Although, it's the best in terms of video playback.

I hate VLC because when you rip, sometimes you get scenes that are skippy. This happens when you're doing something on your computer. I think the buffer is too small.

Anyone have advice on what works well for ripping dvd's to .avi, etc.?

DvdFab is the winner.

It decrypts any DVD and gets around any burn protection measures.

Not to mention it lets you burn the movie directly and skip all of the menus. Or create a copy for a PDA, phone or IPhone.
