Well, I made it to the aforementioned Holiday Inn Express Downtown. Was easy to find, though traffic blew (inconvenient timing). Nice staff. Unexpected refundable $50 security deposit though. Thank GOD I had $50 to spare (normally I don't)... but just a heads up to anyone coming in and staying here.

The room is nothing fancy... no fridge nor microwave, but the location seems ideal, and I feel safe enough. And it's clean. lol woot. Got a 5:30am wake up call... :crying: Sad that morning free-breakkie ends at 9:30. I might not make it back from the medical exam in time, but I'm crossing my fingers. lol I'll be first in line. I WILL... DAMNIT.

Really? I like The 99 Cent store.

When I was there for 3 months most of our canned foods came from there.... their chocolate is too cheap for my own good though!

I found great spaghetti sauce there too, too bad they rotate stuff like that.

Steve's wife here - I just missed you! I stayed there last night because I was in town for business.

I've never been asked for a security deposit . . . I have their rewards card - maybe that makes a difference?

I'm not sure why he did. I'd never been asked about it before either. I have their rewards card now, he gave it to me today... LOL It could have been due to the fact that my fiancé booked the room under his credit card via expedia. Since he's not actually here with me, I expect that had something to do with it, now that I think about it.
