Toronto Medical - for NON-Torontonians

Well, there's also parking near Metro, the supermarket on Front Street. I'm not sure how much the rate is, but that could be an option if you don't mind walking 5-10 minutes.

Just be careful with street parking, my car got hitched to a tow truck (directly across the street from the medical place) and I ran out in my paper gown to beg the driver not to tow my car just read the signs carefully LOL

Front Street is notorious for towing, it's even worse than University. Lots of side streets though, arrive early and have piece of mind. If not, go to Medisys which only has afternoon appointments and is in the Deer Park area. You aren't likely to be towed if you park on a side street.

But I didn't even know we had a different option in Toronto though... that's the confusing part. I thought it was Sieden, and Sieden only as far as Toronto goes... ?? Medisys is in Montreal... I'm talking Toronto.

Toronto has 2 medical options.... Medsys or Seiden. Medsys is in Toronto and Montreal. At least there were 2 options a year ago when I did my medical, I just chose Seiden because it was more convenient

..... the Packet 3 I received has Seiden listed as the only Toronto option. They still have 2 options listed for Montreal though. Anyone else with a recent Packet 3 have anything different than I do?

I just checked and your are quite correct, Halifax is gone, Alberta went a while ago and the Medisys Office in Toronto is now gone.

I don't know how helpful this will be to you (I've never been to Toronto), but you could use Google Maps and Google StreetView to help you find parking and get a better feel for the area before you drive. I've done that in the U.S. and recently in Vancouver. StreetView doesn't solve all your issues, but it's nice to gather information before actually driving in the mess.

Yeah, I do that a lot... I've already brought up google maps to check out how far hotels are and what not. Never really used it for parking though (still getting used to remembering I have the option for StreetView)... Thanks for the idea.

Do I need to bring anything else besides this to the medical?:

• Interview Letter (copy)
• Passport
• 3 Passport photos
• A book/magazine (for the waiting )
• Immunization records (originals, plus a copy)
• $325 cash ($275 for medical, $50 for mailing results)

Plus my hotel related stuff like a map of the area and printed confirmation and what not.

Awesome thread idea!

Driving to Toronto is going to be an incredible pain, and as it's about 4hrs away, I'm staying overnight as well. Definitely going to check into prices for the Holiday Inn Express.

Far as what to bring, your list looks good. If you have any ongoing medical issues, a note from your doctor regarding medications and treatment might be a good idea. Other than that, you look set.

I have no ongoing medical issues, no medications, and no family doctor.... lol That doesn't mean I'm healthy, but I just don't need those things. yay! Good to mention though, in case anyone else does

I liked the Holiday Inn Express due to it's very close proximity to the Dr's office. And it's prices are good. My medical is a week before you, so I'll let ya know how it goes

My family doc doesn't know left from right, but far as I know, I don't have any particular issues they need to know about, so my list looks like yours.

Last thing to check off before the interview. Yay.
