Ok so I have been dealing with NVC regarding my parents cases. Long story short: my father needs to get police clerance certificates from Ukraine and Georgia, and he is working on that now. He is in Moscow so I really dont know how fast he can swing this, but he does have relatives/friends in both places so Im hoping for the best.

When I spoke to an NVC supervisor last week she said that my mom's case was complete-thank God no more RFE's. I asked the supervisor if it would be possible to have my mom's case be put in line for the interview now, as opposed to waiting for my dad's case to be completed, and she said to email that request to them, attn. to a specific supervisor. So I sent the email this morning, and included all the beneficiary/petitioner info they always ask for. It was a pretty short and to the point email.

My mom is not in the best health now...all these years of separation from both of her kids..And this morning I am FINALLY starting to feel like this could be a reality? I have the tiniest glimpse of hope...And I am wondering-now what happens?

How do I follow up? Do I need to follow up? I am not familiar with the timeline of how things happen after a case is deemed complete? Thanks for your input!

grrrrrrrr called NVC just now-just had a feeling that I should-and the first person I talked to was somewhat useless, so I called back to get another rep on the line, and she says Well your case LOOKS complete, but there is no completion date that has been put on here.

Hm, WHY. And why do I have to be on them every tiniest step of the way to keep making sure they are doing what they are supposed to? If I would have just left it alone after talking to the first rep-who did NOT tell me the case does NOT have a completion date and therefore formally is not complteted I guess-then I would just go on with my silly naive self thinking it IS completed. ARRRRGGGHHHHHH....

So she-second rep-is sending it to supervisor right now to have completion date put on it. And she said it may "take them a couple of weeks to check into my email" thats asking for my mothers case to not be held until dads is complete.

I cannot wait for this stage of my life to be over. To wake up and go to bed without thinking about NVC. I just hope they do what they are supposed to now.

Expect to wait about 1 month if your case is in AP. Nothing can be done to avoid this process... I sent an email on Oct 6.. just got a response last night .. I got out of AP on the 23rd.. they waited until the case was forwarded to respond...
