hi everyone, ive gotten some good advice here in the past. my wife is canadian and i filed an i-130/i-485 package for her.

my wife and i moved from our last apartment may 30th 2006. Sometime in march 06 a letter was sent from USCIS arranging an interview for 4/4/06. This never got to me, and i wasn't expecting it so soon anyway. when i checked online last month for an update, it said a letter sent to me had been returned as undeliverable. Yet, this was while i was still living at the address they sent it to, and i continued to live there for a month after the appointment the letter had scheduled.

I've set up an appointment with infopass for this thursday morning. I'm excited, but nervous. Is there any advice anyone can offer? if i can prove it was a postal screw up, might i get a faster resceduling?

thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry to hear this has happened to you.. don't be suprised if when you get to infopass you are told that your AOS has been denied..... if it is you need to file a motion to have your case reopened....

Did you file change of address AR11 forms and write to your local office telling them about your change of address?

I hope all goes well for you

I would expect, based on our similiar experience, that when you go to your appointment your AOS will have been denied and your case closed. That is basically what we have been going through the last month or so.

When you go to your infopass appointment, have the motion to re-open form with you and ready to file. Oh, don't forget the extra US$385.00 it will cost you to fix their mistake. We did this and received a letter about 10 days later stating that they had re-opened our case and we would be advised when our interview was re-scheduled.

Good luck!
