when a K-2 to follow shows up for his embassy interview ( after the mother has already received her visa months earlier), what can he expect? They cant ask the same questions and he is a derivative of the mother. So is he there to just present his medical, etc.. and prove he is the same person on the application?

Anyone been through this before?

I am sorry, I don't have an answer to your question, I am in the same situation and curious myself. I hope someone has some experience they can share. Good luck Enigma, I wish you a good journey.

My stepdaughter had an interview 1 year after her father. She was getting a CR-2 visa, not a K-2. But every person getting a visa in Lima is required to go to an interview. She was required to be at the interview. They asked her a few questions. She is 9 years old. The CO commented that she had no problem with our relationship. She wanted to be sure of the child and her father's relationiship because they did not live together at the time. It was really quite easy.

we did a K2 to follow for our oldest son. Yes he had an interview, but it was really nothing. Turn in the documents, waited a little while then they called him up and said his visa was approved. The only question they asked was after they said he was approved and gave him the pink card, they asked "where will you finish your college" He told them Moscow, they said "Good luck" That was it. K2s do not have to prove relationship (except to the K-1 holder with a birth certificate) so there really isn't much to ask.

He adjusted status without an interview.
