Egypt Military Certificate

My husband got his at the makanat tagneed office. Ok I was mistaken, the damn thing looks so old but apparently he got during our process about 3.5 yrs ago. Not sure when he got the exemption stamp in his passport but that had to have been sometime right before his interview in December '06. He never had a passport before and they kept it at the interview so I'd say he got it sometime between September and December '06.

The cert from the tagneed office will be multi-colored looking with writing on front and back. I dunno if it comes laminated but my husband's cert is laminated. Newer ones may not look this way though. My husband has had his for years due to being exempt and never having to serve in the army.

My husband was also exempt from the military. His form was laminated too, which they did for him. It was a blue half sheet of paper, with writing only on the front. I know Ahmed got his exemption form this year (only because I told him he needs it for immigration purposes) and I don't know where Ahmed got it, but he made it seem like it was a BIG journey in the middle of the dessert to get it.

Ok so I asked my husband and he never heard of anyone going to the ministry of war for a military cert. He actually doesn't know what the name of the office is in English but he said to have your husband contact the local "tagneed" office in Egypt. He said the best bet would be to have your husband ask someone from Egypt who has been in the military about this. I wonder if this is something new? The husband nor I was aware that more than military cert was available. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

My husband & I send our thanks, I told him about the local tagneed office and he knows what it is (basically the local military office where you check in & out when you travel in/out of Egypt if your still in Reserve force), he will have his brother go there and find out what he needs to do to get this document. My husband currently works in Doha, Qatar and will have his interiew in Qatar, not Egypt.

We sent NVC his honorable discharge certificate from Ministry of Defense, I guess that's not what they wants............

My husband sent in his Certificate of Military Service Execution form...because he did serve his time...that isn't his honorable discharge certificate is it? He went to the office in Cairo for it.....

Ahmed & Sameh have been talking trying to help each other, I'm so happy UPDATE: Good news, Ahmed's brother in law is an Army officer in the local Mantakat Tagneed office that issues military certificates, and he told Ahmed that NVC's info about Ministry of War is old, there is no longer a Ministry of War, only Ministry of Defense so.............

I just called NVC and the nice pperator told me it's OK, just have the army officer write a letter of explanation on official letterhead, and we can send it to NVC with our RFE barcoded cover letter..........we're soooooooo happy, and Ahmed will call Sameh to tell him also.

We were going nuts trying to figure out how we can convince NVC that their info is outdated, none of the other operators I spoke to this week told me we could send in a letter of explanation from the local Tagneed office
