The web site of the warsaw embassy seems to have some confliting information. Here are two items I pulled on the I-864. Am I reading this right or am I having a semi-senior moment here. I have sent them an email asking what are their requirements regarding financial support documentation in preparation for my fiancess interview there.

Who completes the Affidavit of Support, Form I-864?

The petitioner, that is to say, the American citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident who filed the immigrant visa petition on behalf of the visa applicant. The petitioner must complete an I-864 if filing a petition on behalf of a spouse, parent, child, or sibling, or if he or she filed an employment based petition or has a 5% or more ownership interest in the company which filed the petition. Further information is available from the Department of State's website. The I-864 will not be sent to the petitioner until the NVC has received the Affidavit of Support processing fee.

The petitioner should return the signed original I-864 to the NVC. The I-864 will be forwarded to the Embassy once NVC has completed the administrative processing of the application.

Financial Documents

The Affidavit of Support form I-864 is not required for K visas. However, petitioners must provide proof of adequate financial support once in the United States to ensure the applicant will not become public charges. Documentation regarding financial support can be in any form so long as it contains enough detail and information for the consular officer to conclude that the beneficiary will not become a public charge. Petitioners may submit the form I-134 if they wish

You are mixing requirements for immigrant and NON-immigrant visas. K visas are NON-immigrant visas and do not use the I-864.

For the interview you do not need ANY of the forms (they are not required) but you do have to submit financial information that you will be able to support your fiancee. If you wish, you can use the I-134 PLUS your financial documents. Consider the I-134 a cover letter or "summary" of waht you attach behind it. You will need to attach your most recent tax retrun with w-2s, an emploment letter and/or recent check stubs to prove your income. If your income is sufficient, leave the asset section of the I-134 blank.
