stupid rule..aimed at african americans

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Atlanta has an ordinance against baggy paints worn low as well - doesn't stop it, though, as the law isn't enforced. (hehehe, I wonder if the police really do want to enforce it though, as how fast can a guy who commits a crime and is wearing pants with the crotch at his knees and is having to hold his pants up with one hand, really run?)

There does seem to be an element of racism in the club's rationale for not admitting the young men. Their dress code 'excuse' went out the window when the black guy refused admittance and the white guy allowed admittance switched pants - and the black guy was still denied entrance but the white guy was admitted. The bar does have the right to deny admission, but it does appear from this article that their decision was racially motivated.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

You supplied the "information" as a means to race bait, so don't be snarky on top of that. There's no right to wear baggy pants to an establishment, no matter what color you are, so, no, the idea of a right to do this is silly.

Did you read the bit where the white guy swapped trousers with the black guy (after he had been denied) and got in?

What is wrong with your reading comprehension?

If those pictures represent the baggy pants in question on the night, no question there was an element of racism, unless the person who was admitting customers had changed from when the non-Black kid was let in the club to when the Black kid was refused admittance. In that case, it could be a question of one person being a bigger stickler than the other.

If those are not the pants in question, then it is hard to make a determination if it was dress code or racism.

I don't really think this is neccessarily proof that there was racism involved. My pants would look a lot baggier on little sister.

The rule itself is not aimed at African Americans. How it was applied might have been. But boys of EVERY race wear their pants ridiculously low.

It is a STUPID rule, though. The boys look like fools, but you can't regulate that behavior out of existence.
