I was asked by my fiance to send him photos of me (The dimension of

the facial image should be about one inch from your chin

to the top of your hair in 3/4 frontal view, showing the

right side of your face with your right ear visible.) as indicated on I-129F form that we got.

But as I was searching online, it says that we need a passport-style color photo.

"The dimension of the full frontal facial image of you and your fiancé(e) in separate photos

should be about one inch from your chin to the top of your hair."

It's almost the same but the difference with 3/4 frontal and full frontal.

So it confused me. I guess it doesn't really matter but I want to make sure

before I send him my photos, letter of intent, and g-325a form.

Please help. Thank you very much:)

The photos to must be in color.

The photos must measure exactly 2 inches by 2 inches.

The photo should show a clear, front view, full face of the customer. The customer should be in normal street attire, without hat or dark glasses against a plain white or off-white background. The customer’s expression should be natural, with both eyes open, looking directly ahead. Normal, unexaggerated smiles are acceptable, but unusual expressions and squinting are not. Photos in which the face of the person being photographed is not in focus will not be accepted.

INS which is now the USCIS wants Department of State type passport photos. Here are the guidelines.

http://travel.state.gov/passport/guide/guide_2081.html

Should be able to get these taken at many places that deal in passport photos, besides the size, background, proper lighting, no smiles, no jewelry, wife didn't like that.

You don't need to send the 3/4 they will not take it! ONLY the full front 2"x2" with (white background) you will need 3 more, when you go to do your medical.

Yep, you've got old info. The INS became USCIS sometime in 2002, I think. They switched from the 3/4 view to full frontal view in September of 2004 (we filed our initial petition with 3/4 view photos, but needed full frontal for everything thereafter).

Here's a printout of the requirements, which are the same as the requirements for US passports. Note that if you're getting these taken outside the US, other countries may have similar passport photo requirements, but there's some variation on the size. US passport photos are 2"x2", or 5cm x 5cm.
