I have a question about packet 3. I read about all the form you need: 156, 156k, and 157. Do you send these forms back to the embassy or do you fill them out and bring them to the interview.? This for Kingston Consular.

So LadyC' you are saying that after you receive packet 3 you don't have to contact the embassy about anything, also after receiving packet 3 you just wait for the embassy to send you packet 4.

if they work the same as the Canadian consulates you will also need to fill out the DS-230 and a checklist which you send back, the other forms you take to the interview with you. Sending back the checklist and 230 is how you get in the interview lineup here.

Yea apparently things work the same in Jamaica as in Canada. You need to get the embassy the DS-230(part 1) before they will schedule an interview. You can email them the signed DS-230, mail it to them, or email them asking for a drop off date and have you SO hand deliver it.

For Malaysian embassy, you send DS230 Part I, passport copy and a checklist back to them after packet 3 to get an interview date. Then fill up DS230 Part II, DS-156 (x2), DS-156K but do NOT sign them and bring them to the interview where they will direct you to sign them infront of them.

Packet 4 contains interview appointment letter and medical forms for medical.

As Thompson2B said, you have to get the DS230 pt. 1 to them so that they can schedule the interview (packet 4). You definitely will need two copies of the ds 156, ds 156k and the ds-157.

Those go with you to the interview by the way
