We filed way back in October 2009... Ahh the good old days of naivety. I had the wrong impression of the whole process... Got to learn as we went. Our case was processed pretty fast in the beginning all the way to the NVC. Unfortunately, we asked an agent for help... the agent wasn't necessarily bad, but did miss lead us. Plus, they didn't tell us about the electronic option; so we're stuck old school style.

She told us we'd get a letter, but we got e-mails. We blindly waited an extra 8 weeks longer than we should have waiting for letters. GRRR. Then collecting documents. We probably added an extra 3 months or so on the case.

Well, our case was completed at the NVC in September and forwarded to Guangzhou. Now we are waiting, and waiting and waiting... It's four months to the day today upon completion, and we assume next week will be four months from sending.

I wrote the consulate about once a month after the second months asking about status, and various questions. The information on the consulate website is ok if not a bit vague about the time for documents to arrive. The website said around 3 months. The second e-mail from the consulate said 3-4 months. And the last, rather curt e-mail, said 4 or more months. I understand they are busy, and have lots of people applying, bitching, and other things. But, how can they expect us to patiently wait when we want to be with our loved ones, make life plans and decision, and want to start our life in the US? ...yep, I need to vent so much! grr

Oh well, we still hope SOON.

Yay! Well, now Guangzhou has it, and we both can breathe a sigh of relief. Now it's the consulate stage. IT's still too early to get things planned for when we return, I know. I'm getting more homesick the closer we get to her interview and finally getting to the US.
