Immigration?

Hi fellow VJ'ers!

As I'm getting closer to my interview, more and more questions seem to be appearing. I was hoping I could take a direct flight to Seattle and have my POE there, but it seems as this is not possible. If I need to go through immigration elsewhere, how much time will I need before I need to get on my connection flight? I'm worried there might not be enough time between the layover at the airport.. and I don't want to be stuck in immigration when my next plane leaves. Any advice please?

If you can, leave 4 hours between planes so as to have plenty of time and not to get stressed out. That being said, when we went through Newark last year, I was processed and back at the lugage carousel before our lugage made it through!

If you'd prefer Seattle to be your POE, you should look into connecting outside of the U.S., rather than making a domestic connection. There are ample opportunities to connect at almost any major European airport. From Oslo, I'd suggest flying Icelandair and connecting in Reykjavik. Oslo->Reykjavik->Seattle can be had for as little as 2,000 NOK one way, and while I've only sampled their new interiors in business class, their economy seating looked remarkably comfortable.

Could always look at connecting via Schipol into Seattle. That's another pretty decent flight and plenty of airlines cover that route.
