For those of you that know my story, I never got the papers I needed for the first RFE.

The deadline was yesterday and last week I sent a letter to the Vermont office asking for an extension (advice from several members here). I haven't heard anything from them (I know, it's only Tuesday). However I did get "touched" today but the message has remained the same from the IMBRA RFE that they received. So, now I am waiting to find out if we were granted an extension or rejected.

So I got new documents to fill out and will talk to my fiance tonight to tell him to run off another set of copies of his divorce documents and have them sent to me via COURIER!!!! So if anything happens to them we can track them. I will have them translated here since I have a list of Greek translators in New York.

Lesson learned:

1. Anything that needs to be sent in the mail for this process should be trackable. Fedex, Airborne, UPS, registerd, etc.

2. If you see that you haven't received anything in a timely fashion, check on it and get the ball rolling again.

3. Let your SO know that this is TOP PRIORITY, nothing else should come in the way during this process.

4. Thankful for this site and all the members with great advice, sympathy, concern and good jokes!!!!

January 29, 2006 - WE GOT ENGAGED!!

March 20, 2006- mail K-1 VISA (certified & return receipt).

March 22, 2006 - Vermont office receives our application.

March 23, 2006 - NOA1

March 24, 2006 - Check is cashed

April 22, 2006 - Receive email from USCIS that RFE is mailed for more information.

April 28, 2006 - Receive RFE in the mail. Need final divorce decree from Andreas.

June 20, 2006 - 2nd RFE (IMBRA)

June 23, 2006 - Received RFE (IMBRA) in the mail.

June 24, 2006 - FedEx IMBRA RFE to Vermont office.

June 27, 2006 - Vermont Office received IMBRA RFE.

July 3, 2006 - Touched

July 12, 2005 - Fedex request for extension for the 1st RFE.

July 17, 2006 - Deadline for 1st RFE.

July 18, 2006 - Touched

July 19, 2006 - Touched

July 20, 2006 - Touched

August 6, 2006 - Touched

August 17, 2006 - Touched and email that a letter has been sent with regards to RFE.

August 23, 2006 - Letter received, we got the extension I requested, they allowed us 3 MORE MONTHS!!!

October 27, 2006 - Papers mailed by courier from Athens.

I'm crossing my fingers and praying that all is well with your case. Even the inclination of a setback is nerve-wrecking and frustrating. I second that! This site is a wonderful place to learn and share. And thank you for the lessons learned because we all need to stay vigilant with this process.

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.

I had to cancel, we had a family emergency last week. So I released my days at work :crying:
