Hello my fellow VJ's. First of all I would like to say thank you KUDOS  for all your help and support you have given me when I was still a 'babe' in this website (I still am) ahihi I really appreciate it very much. If it wasn’t for all of YOU (you know who you are) and this website it would be a hard time for me so thank you from the bottom of my hypothalamus! I've learned and discovered a lot of things here that I never thought I can accomplish :star::star::star: It's better to ask even sometimes you may sound stupid and silly but hey I'd rather be "Makulit" and be ignorant. I can say that, all the interview experiences are exactly the same from what I’ve read here once you're inside the Manila Embassy (though we have different cases and consuls) you won't be scared at all (well, not really!) you will know exactly what's going to happen, what to do, where to go and what to expect.

Last Friday, October 23rd was my interview and I was in the exact place from where you've been, maybe the one reading this right now is at the same spot from where I was seated. Isn't that amazing?! :o While I was there waiting for my name to be called or my number flash on the screen. I can imagine ALL your interview stories even the "Masungit" pre-screeners, I was thinking… hey maybe that's the one they're talking about haha.. :hehe: even the consuls.. But thanked God I have none of those wheeEeew! I wanted to tell you what happened the moment I stepped inside the Manila embassy but you already told everyone here. The procedures are pretty much the same. I had my interview with this young American handsome guy and it was very pleasant more like of a casual conversation and just like everyone else I was so nervous, anxious to get inside that sliding door. Once the door opened I felt my (L) dropped on the floor haha and I just wanted to disappear and be in another time, place or planet… anywhere but here :crying: I said to myself.. I felt all my insides were turned upside down. I don’t know if I was sweating or it’s just the cold air-conditioned room that makes it even colder bbbbrrrrrr! My number flashed at the end of the final interview room (I forgot the room number sorry) and to my surprise there are actually 2 consuls inside that room.. I was interviewed on the right side which is not really a good idea for the embassy to do because you can hear everything from the other side that makes it even harder to concentrate on your own interview. But hey the consul I had was handsome enough to get my attention :P haha there’s nothing he will ask that you cannot answer cause its all about YOU and your PETITIONER .. basic questions like…

Randomly…

Your name, age, birthday…

When, where, how did you meet..

Who’s your petitioner..

What does he do for a living..

Petitioner’s age, birthday..

Ask about the pictures..

When, where you got married..

How many times your petitioner visited you in Phils..

Just looking at the cards but not e-mails nor chat print outs..

I also brought with me tons of evidences though the consul didn’t really check most of the documents I gave the pre-screener (just in case they need some more proof of our relationship.. its better to be ready than regret it and be sorry just like what most VJ’s will advise you..

To make the story long, este short hehe .. I have anticipated those magic words “Your petition has been approved” the reason why I was expecting it is that I was prepared and gave them all the exact documents they required from “us”.. you really have to give those 'EXACT' documents that they’re looking for..

After that.. the consul will ask you to go to the releasing area.. sit down for a while.. relax.. chill.. and wait for your name to be called and not your number cause this time you won’t be needing it anymore but keep it for souvenir..

Mine was 7001…

once you heard your name, stand up or I might as well run for it hehe.. and take your “PINK SLIP” and pay AIR21 (P205)for your visa to be delivered..

So right now.. I’m just waiting for my visa to arrive so that I can be with my husband in no time :luv: .. mahal, thank you for all your support.. I love you more..

walking out of the embassy makes me wonder with a lot of things.. how many people have been there.. their own personal stories/experiences and it fascinates me.. I try to seize the moment, I want to capture every detail of it.. I was walking real slow looking around the embassy.. observing..

I took my final step out of that exit steal door that is kinda rusty and that doesn’t rotate anymore when you push it haha… (you have to make some extra effort/strength in doing so or else you’ll be stuck there forever) haha then I thank the lady guard and said goodbye…

Finally I was out of the embassy but lost for a while cause I don’t know how to get home.. going there caused me P300 for a cab I wanted to save money for the transportation and P300 is a lot for me :P hehe.. so I just keep walking asking the vendors how to get to EDSA.. so I took a jeepney going to Cubao but then it was really a “Hot Sunny Friday Morning” that’s why I transferred to an FX..

once I paid the driver I fell asleep :hehe: hahha.. then I woke up cause there’s no more passenger but me at that time.. I started to feel so tired maybe from all the 3 months preparations, stressed that it caused me.. but HEY, HEY, HEY it’s worth it I’m telling you!!

Til we meet again…

And oh.. I almost forgot..

I want to thank my CREATOR, my GOD…

Hi nonversation. I know! I didn't really expect that it was coming too soon. Actually my husband filed July 25. So fast... I wasn't prepared that's why I was so worried cause at that time I still don't have my NSO BC(which is very impt.) and even my medical examination result. I had some minor problem when I took the medical and I didn't finish the supposedly 2 days, right? I was expecting to get my shots the 2nd day but I was told to go to see a dermatologist at St. Lukes E. Rodriguez instead. Problem was. I have some rashes at my back & I was so disappointed at that time. When I got there I paid the dermatologist P850 for consultation fee and bought some ointment and soap. Actually parang bungang araw lang xa. I passed the major tests but I failed sa rashes lang haha.. it took them 1 week before SLMEC got my result. Which indicated that its "none contagious" and that's all they need to know. So I went to SLMEC wednesday for my vaccination and the result. Then Thursday I went to CENSUS in EDSA to get my NSO MC then the interview was Friday.. So it was a scary week for me, I can't almost sleep cause I was so worried about the Friday interview I thought it will be rescheduled but even the last minute I secured all the docs I needed. So thanked God all things were finished just before the interview... Wheeeeeeeeew..

Hi Diana & Jason thank you. And yes, I've learned a lot here.

Here's the link I was reading weeks before my interview. Just in case you haven't seen this :)

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;qpid=3433572

It will be scary at first, but once you're inside and talking to the consul it will all disappear trust me. I realized why would I freak out? Why would I be scared? All the documents are there and the relationship is 'real' you know. That's why it gave me enough confidence to speak and tell him about my relationship with my husband. It was funny cause when I was talking to the consul I wanted to tell more about my husband, how we started but I just answered him in a direct manner not too much details haha.. I tried to control myself hehe..

JUST A REMINDER!

1) Bring your appointment letter. (you will show it to the guard)

2) Valid ID or passport (if SLMEC will return it to you)

DONT' BRING USB, IPOD, CAMERA, CP OR ANY ELECTRONIC DEVICES OR ELSE YOU WILL BE RESCHEDULED.

Once you're inside US embassy. Just wait for the guard to instruct you on what to do.

YOU WILL SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING AT THE COUNTER ON YOUR RIGHT WHEN YOU ENTERED THE ROOM WITH BLUE CHAIRS. AND ALSO YOU WILL GET YOUR NUMBER THERE.

3) DS-156 (2 COPIES) TO BE DOWNLOADED ONLINE here's the link https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp

4) DS-157 (2 COPIES) make sure its validated at BDO when you paid your VISA fee of $131. It's ok if the other one has no validation.

make sure not to leave blanks otherwise they will ask you to fill 'em which will add time for you.

THEN SIT DOWN FOR A WHILE.. WAIT FOR YOU NAME TO BE CALLED FOR FINGER SCANNING I THINK ITS ON WINDOW 16, 17. THIS TIME THEY WILL CALLY YOUR NAME THAT'S WHY IT'S HARD NOT TO MISS. THEN AFTER THAT WAIT AGAIN FOR YOU NUMBER TO BE FLASHED ON THE SCREEN.

Once you see your number, that's the time for the pre-screener. Don't be scared cause they're just getting all the docs from you to give to the consul. The consul just interview the applicants but the pre-screeners are the ones securing our documents, asking questions about you and your petitioner etc.

THESE ARE THE DOCS THEY WILL ASK:

1) NSO BC

2) NSO MC

3) NSO CENOMAR (i thought I won't be needing this cause I'm already married but the pre-screener ask for it so I gave them mine)

4) NBI

5) I-134

6) Petitioners Letter of Employment

7) W2's (I gave them just the copy but I brought the original)

8) Petitioner's paystubs (3 months at least, copy) I brought the orig also.

9) One Tax Return Salary from IRS (2008 file is ok, copy also but bring orig file)

10) Remittances receipts

11) Letters, emails, chats, cards

12) Pictures (put it in a small photo album, the window holes are really small)

I didn't have phone bills cause my husband use phone cards but the pre-screener didn't really ask. I was safe hehe..

I told the pre-screener if I can give the wedding cards from our Sponsors and visitors, she said its not needed. She only took my letters/cards for my husband and my husband's cards for me.

The pre-screener will ask you the ff: questions

name

birthday

age

address

name of your petitioner

where he lives

if you're married before and your petitioner

date of marriage

how, when did you meet

your last period haha

if you ever been pregnant before

if you have kids already

how did the petitioner got to the U.S. (if not naturally born citizen)

THE PRE-SCREENER WILL WRITE YOUR ANSWERS ON A SHEET OF PAPER. i THINK THAT'S GOING TO BE THE CONSUL'S GUIDE FOR YOUR INTERVIEW CAUSE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME QUESTIONS AS OF THE PRE-SCREENER.

If you have questions feel free to ask me anytime. May God give you wisdom on your interview. God bless on your interiew..

stellar8 ;)

Wow! Hi there Jada Lvs Yader. I was touched by your message. Thank you. I've been through the same situation you are in right now. I was also nervous when my husband filed my petition. What I did is that I prepared the I-130 and I-129F package both at the same time. When I received the NOA2 for I-130 I send the I-129F package right away. No time was ever wasted! haha I downloaded all the forms here on VJ and if I don't know the answer I look for the example forms which is also available here and other websites. I posted all my questions I know that someone will surely reply, you won't be ignored! I prepared all the forms instead of my husband (tho he's the petitioner hehe) so that I can help him (cuz guys hates paperworks! grrrr) all I need is his signature which he obliged to do hehe. The reason why I did that is because I don't want to sit here waiting when I can prepare the forms and other docs ahead of time, right? Maybe that's the reason that it took us only 3 months for the whole process but then again cases may vary. In my own opinion, I think the key is to give them the 'exact' documents they need from each applicants. At first, you will think that nothing is happening when you send the package, things are going slow but this journey requires a lot of patience. (tho I became impatient & pessimistic) once NOA arrives other papers will come to you one by one. While waiting, prepare other docs that you will need like MC, BC, CENOMAR should ALL be NSO copies. Affidavit of support of your husband because this might take a while so prepare it in advance. W2's, paystubs, employment letter, I-134 and also FORMS like DS-156,157. And secure your passport too! Let me know if you have questions. I'll be happy to help you! I hope this one helps ;)

Just like everyone else.. soon we will be reading your interview story so don't lose heart. We are here to support YOU! Keep the faith.
