Fiancees name on son birth certificate spelled wrong

Is there anyone here who had there name misspelled on child's birth certificate. How did you correct it and when you went to interview at embassy what did they say.

Because me and my fiancee went to the interview yesterday and we had got a certified letter from local registrar stating that it is in proses to be fixed, but it takes 2 to 3 months to get corrected birth certificate and we also had affidavit of support about the the name being misspelled. They told us they wanted birth certificate with annotation on the side with the new name, but we went to NSO and they said they don't know how to do it.

no one had a problem with misspelled name on child's birth certificate in this group
