Do you "look like you just came from Mexico"? If so, Sheriff Joe would like to speak to you.

PHOENIX -- The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department denies it engages in racial profiling after a controversial comment made by Sheriff Joe Arpaio Saturday.

When a CBS 5 News reporter asked the sheriff how his deputies determined when to question about their immigration status during a news conference Saturday he replied, "Certain criteria -- no identification, look like you just came from Mexico, and they admit it. So that’s enough."

“It’s absolutely not racial profiling,” said director of custody Jerry Sheridan Monday.

...

“I think you can tell people that are not from this country,” he said.

...

The Arizona Anti-Defamation League fights race-based discrimination.

Regional director Bill Straus said the sheriff's comments shows the department is engaging in racial profiling.

“Stopping people because of their appearance,” he said. “That’s what racial profiling is. That’s exactly what it is.”

Didn't know illegals were any less capable of telling things than anyone else. ;)

Unfortunately for you, credibility plays a part in the legal system. Entering a sovereign nation on your own, clearly does not demonstrate good character.

Aussies would have told all of them to go back to where they came from if since it's so bad here. This sheriff would be a hero there. then again the federal government there actually does their job, therefore, there would be no need for a sheriff to do so. Australia is not in the business of pandering to foreign nations.

Like suing people for defamation from message boards. Character is one thing that credibility is not. Gotcha mate

Everyone in this thread has made their point quite clearly.

No different to what Australian authorities do when people jump off from a boat in remote areas and run through the desert. Police have the right to randomly stop them and ask for identification. If someone looks like they have just entered the country illegally, they will be questioned. Something the majority of Australians condone.

PM me when the US wins the multitude of international recognized awards they have won, for your political correctness. Actually, have you ever wondered that although the US is now obsessed with being PC, you are falling down most human development related international rankings. Hint: Same thing is happening in the UK.

You have made no point. You have come here, pulled a "not this ###### again" card and ridiculed anyone who disagrees with you.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Well yeah. That BY is making a fool of himself AGAIN card is getting old. Just ban yourself instead of getting suspended next time.

I do wonder though what my opinion would be that would earn any disagrees (read: only you apparently) the international prize of ridicule. Since, after all... everyone has already made it clear what this topic was about. Reading is a powerful tool.

Maybe that's why I don't waste my time with your tireless BS most of the time??

Or is that defamation too?

I didn't realize I ever asked for your opinion. You sure as hell insist on giving it regarding myself or various others. Then only to turn around and claim you don't care.

Clearly as educated as it gets. Rather than discuss, just personally ridicule those you disagree with. Not to mention throwing out labels, while ridiculing those who say 'libruls'. Hypocrite

I have an addiction to hypocrisy. There I said it. I feel relieved. A weight has been lifted.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

What does everyone here disagree with you on?

Everyone? Dude come on. As per usual, the same group of 5 or 6 posters defending each other. As I said earlier, strange coincidence the same group of 'individuals' agree with one another on every single topic. Not to mention always failed to back up anything they post other than defending one another.

As soon as you see the word minority, you will choke up and attack. Not a coincidence this same group was lost for words regarding the article Danno posted where a black girls used a lie and race to send innocent people to jail.

Then again what is my opinion?

That is the million dollar question. Unfortunately your views regarding other posters does not count.

Yet again, point proven about the buds jumping in solely to defend one another.

Thanks guys.

I have not seen Len actually discuss a top for over 2.5 years now. Took on the roll after Alex left.
