Is there anybody here who dealt with the Embassy in Dublin recently ? I sent my checklist a week ago and I am not sure when to start worrying ;)

Bartek

Don't worry!!!! they are one of the fastest embassies. We had a little delay due to fingerprints, but even with that he got an interview a week later. They may ring you to see if you have all the paperwork & the medical completed.

I bet you have an interview in 3 weeks(just a guess).Good luck-my man said they were very nice to him-you will be fine.

let me know when you get the interview date.

Have you tried calling them?

that is what I did when I was waiting for Gavin to get his paperwork. Call tomorrow between 10-11:30 the number is 6688777, press 0 then tell them you want to speak with someone in the K-1 unit. Or when the recording comes on-press 2435.

let me know how you get on :)

After I sent in my notice of readiness, I was scheduled in for an interview 8 weeks later, which was longer than expected...BUT...in my letter to the embassy with the docs they required, I did ask them to delay the interview til i was back in-country as I was going on holidays a few days after sending the letter. I did send them a date when I'd be back and hoped to have an interview soon after, but it was still scheduled for 6 weeks after I had returned (8 weeks from sending in my docs/notice of readiness).

My letter to ask them to hold off for 2 weeks or so might have delayed things but I still didn't expect to have to wait for 2 months to get an interview. I did manage to get an interview sooner though..... :D

I'd say do what Colleen said and give them a call. They are pretty helpful.

Thanks. Still nothing in the mail :(, so I think I will call them tomorrow.

That's what I did... I asked them to schedule the interview after the 28th. They might have interpreted it as "he is not in a hurry"... the very opposite is true ! ;)

Two months... that would be scary ! :o

Update.

I called. They proposed the 7th of September for my interview :o A bit of begging ;) and I got the 24th of August. Dang, I hoped for the first week of August...

I prefer to do everything "by the book", but I have to say that I fully understand people who send the checklist right after they receive Packet 3 and start collecting all the documents later :)

Sept??? God that seems a bit ridiculous. I am glad you got Aug 24th. I am worried about Gavin's date because he has to get court transcripts, which will take 2 weeks........................maybe we won't have to wait too long because he already had the interview

I may ring them tomorrow to let them know he is getting them next week-then maybe they can set a date for him?

I was hoping he could be here by the end of August.

AFAIK you can only call them on Mondays, Tuesdays, Tursdays and Fridays. But you are an USC, so it might be worth a try :)

I suspect that the delays might be caused by all the petitions that were returned due to IMBRA and are now being approved again.

I bet that is exactly why there is a delay-I forgot about IMBRA!!!

keep me posted so I know how you get on at your interview.

I received the Packet 4 :)

B.

I knew you would get the info within 2 weeks ;)

Gav is going to get his court transcript on Monday-the embassy said they will see him straight away-because he already had his interview on the 14th. He just has to call them when he gets the papers (which I was told wouldn't take longer than a week).
