Probably not advice you want to be giving people on this board. Yes, it's true, they usually forgive overstays. But that does not mean they are not going to be thoroughly questioned about it. Kittyfang has been here in the US for a really long time and if I were the US government, I'd like to understand what she's been up to for all these years. Most people, even in an overstay situation, get married and file AOS right afterwards. Kittyfang has been married for a sufficient amount of time without filing for anything. I'm also confused as to your tax situation. Why would you amend your tax returns for the past three years if you had no income? I would just be very careful about doing that and AOS at the same time. It looks, in my opinion, very odd.

In a way, Kittyfang, I feel sorry for you. I get the feeling that you are a younger person and the choices you have made have pigeonholed you into a lifestyle that can't be very nice. I understand that you guys don't have a lot of money and it's quite possible that you are bored to tears. I did it for 9 months and wanted to scratch my eyes out. I was relieved to have some sort of life again once I was legal and got to work. I couldn't imagine being..well..home all day for this amount of time.

I would appreciate if you didn't cut my messages like that. I told her that her marriage will be questioned. Do you know why? Because she was married all those years she overstayed. I didn't know there was a time frame to file for AOS if you already overstayed. What is the timeframe if you don't mind my asking?one week, a month?how does it look to you if someone overstays, gets married and file for AOS ther next day or week?don't you think THAT would be odd? Filing for AOS that late could be a proof that the marriage is actually valid. Don't get me wrong, I don't encourage anybody to overstay that long and not file anything. But at this point she HAS to file for AOS asap and I definitely support and encourage her decision. I doesn't matter how boring or how happy her life is right now. She needs to move on and get her stuff straight.asking why is this and why is that might not get us anywhere, she knows better the answers. Good luck, Kittyfang!

HI Kittyfang!! Hope you remember me! I'm glad to hear you got a passport!!

Please keep me updated via PM's about your case and if you need any help!

To the people being rude: I don't know why rude and negative comments are needed. If you don't have something good or say, then stop replying to a topic.

Kitty you keep on doing your thing! As you know I overstayed over THREE YEARS before I applied for mine, and

I was just fine. I'm sure you will be too, as long as you stay strong and don't let people bring you down.

Hi Starburst! Last I checked it was a public message board, and we will reply all we want.

No one is being rude.. just completely honest.

And there is a thing called Trolling.

Kitty gets it. She understands she has overstayed and now it's her job to apply for AOS, go through the process and deal with whatever outcome she gets.

There is no need to drill it into her head a million times.

Believe me, people in her situation (just like I was) understands that they haven't done things the best way, but at least

she is trying to make it right instead of staying here like all the illegals in this country.

Well, seems like I'm proper ####*d. I cannot get a passport and the only ID I have is my birth certificate and an expired picture ID (health card).

I know that they require a picture ID at the biometrics appointment. Can they accept the one I showed at CBP? Even if it is expired? Can I get anything else? I know State ID is out of the question...

Hi I am going through the same thing right now. all i have is an expired id and my birth certificate and i have a biometrics appt this month. what do i do?

When you went for your biometrics appt what did u bring? Because all i have is an expired id and my birth certificate?
