Yay so glad I stumbled into here

Today I spoke with NVC for probably 100th time...VERY long story short-the supervisor said my mom's case looks complete but my father needs police clearance certificates from Ukraine and Georgia (where he lived years ago). We did submit police clearance certificates my parents got in Moscow, but they say "Russian Federation" and NVC insists on Ukraine and Georgia (after having told me 1.5 months ago that they may not need them if i write a letter of explanation-so yea, they really wasted my time). Anyway, now that I know for sure there is no way around getting the certificates, my question is: has anyone ever used these people:

www.ukraine-translation.com

OR these:

http://www.rctccorp.com/police-clearance/u..._clearance.html

The first one claims they need no power of attorney and do it in just a few days. Smells funny? The second one does say it takes a month. Both claim certificates are genuine.

Also, I found a website that is a business located in the Ukraine that seems to specialize in these types of documents, and this is their site:

http://www.vipservis.kiev.ua/ru.71/Spravka...esudimosti.html

Wondering if any of you have heard/used any of the services from any of the above sites?

AND NOW MY SECOND QUESTION: Since I only learned today that my moms paperworks is "complete" as NVC put it, I am still in the state of processing that info. Mostly because this was a hard battle, with NVC losing my paperwork twice and generally me feeling every day like I was beating my head against the wall for the most simple things that should have just gone smoothly. Now I am wondering-should I ask NVC to go ahead and put my mom through in the line to have her interview appointment scheduled? While we try to figure out my dads police certificates...we all know how awesomely paperwork getting process works in Russia...who knows how long this will take :-( My dad is strong...my mom on the other hand-she just cannot anymore. I look at her on Skype every day and my heart is breaking into pieces. I have not seen them for many years, and they have never met my two little girls, their grandchildren. At least there is skype.

thanks for your time, I can use all the advice I can get!

I"ve got no real input for you, but...

How hard is it going to be to contact the Police Bureas in Ukraine and Georgia to get the police clearances?

and...

How far back do the records go, for each 'Country' ???

Ukraine, IMO, should be able to issue what you want, but (again IMO ) Georgia might have problems - what with things blowing up a few years ago (where's the data? how secure was it? Can the computer go back all those years??? )

I have a cousin in Kiev - I could certainly inquire about a Police Certificate with him - but I'm sure he'd have to pay a 'special fee' to get it done (money talks there, always, for getting gov paperwork - he's not a native, he's an expat Religious Pastor )

Good Luck, regardless of how it all flows...

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thank you for your quick reply! Well, in Georgia my father has friends, and as per NVC in Georgia one may apply by proxy (via relative, friend etc) for the certificate. As far as Ukraine goes-again, per NVC-one must inquire at a local (Moscow in this case) Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate about getting the certificate. Only my paralegal whom Ive been working with several years on all of my paperwork needs and now on my parents cases told me that going to a Ukranian Embassy/Consulate can be pretty useless as all they will do is send the request to the Ukraine at which point nothing can be tracked or inquired about...and as you may guess can take months and months. Hence me trying to take care of the Ukranian police certificate in a different way. Also, NVC did state to me today that even if a country (Georgia and/or Ukraine in this case) was to say that for some reason my fathers police record was NOT available-NVC said they would accept a letter from them stating the unavailability of the record.

And by all means, i would love to pay a fee to get the Ukraine police clearance cert.... Im totally prepared for the "fee". I want to pay the fee. Show me who wants the fee! :-)
