I'm having a problem getting some kind of call logs. I use an Orbitel phone card to call Vanessa and she has a Movistar pre-paid phone. I call her every night for the past 8 months but since I use a phone card I cant prove that I do. My phone company said they cant give me a log. What do I do???

Kept the calling cards, I used ATT for short time calls, otherwise video conference call via msn messanger.

The embassy doesn't really pay attention to calling cards since anyone can use some else's cards to call anywhere in the world. Since we buy our cards online, I printed out a few just in case. Some people have said that they showed the actual calling cards during the interview. So it's up to you.

What about your credit card statements? Do they list your purchases of time to Orbitel?

Do what I do, and for $2, I get 100 minutes direct (a fija) to Barranquilla via La Unica calling card. That's how I stay in touch with my Costeñita...

What city are you calling? How much to you spend per hour dialed? I met a guy at the US Embassy earlier this month who swore by Bananatalk.com, but he doesn't live in an area with competing liquor stores all selling a wall full of calling cards.
