We just got our NOA2. I was wondering how long it took from your NOA2 to your interview date and visa approval? I'm hoping she can be here before our Anniversary which is just before Christmas.

Congrats on your nOA2.

Ours took 29 days. Received NOA2 noticed via e-mail on Sept. 22, Medical Exam on Oct. 5 and 6, Interview on Oct. 21. We could have scheduled the interview sooner than Oct. 21 but my NBI clearance was said to be released on Oct. 20, though I was able to get it Oct. 15. Anyways, all good. My fiance and I will be together soon. Yay!!!

You had me worried! :star:

It all depends how fast the NVC gets your packet to the USEM, and how soon you can get an interview appointment. Folks here are pretty good at figuring that out. With no snags, you might make it, but don't buy a ticket until you have visa in hand. Good luck.

Thanks, hopefully the ticket isn't too much for a last minute DECEMBER ticket... We'll see.

Similar pre-Christmas hopes.

10-06-09 10 pm I-129F Approval email and SMS

10-12-09 Called NVC. Case arrived at NVC 10-09-09 (received MNL#)

10-14-09 NOA2 hardcopy in mail

10-15-09 Called NVC, case sent to USEM on 10-14-09

I tracked a likely package using the VJ DSL tracking trick after many attempts and some additional forum research. 5 days in transit. (Some info here. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=217924 Thanks thepizzadude and others  )

10-19-09 am Called DOS, said case at USEM (failed to ask if it was uploaded - they said it was "in the system")

10-19-09 pm Called USEM (20th in Manila) - Case not in system yet (they said its there in electronic form only, no hardcopy). Not able to schedule interview. Said interviews for K1 are currently being scheduled for Nov 4-24. Some current posts regarding interview dates http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...21257&st=15

Calling back this Sunday, when its Monday in Manila, with hopes to set an interview date. Waiting a few days seem strenuous now...

Holiday closures at USEM http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwhholi.html (24 total for 2009)

Best Wishes.

We were also a K-1 couple. It was two months from the time we received our NOA2 until my fiancée arrived here in Seattle. We could have shaved about ten days off of that time if my fiancée had jumped on a plane as soon as she received her visa.

Good luck on your visa journey.

I noticed that you were able to call NVC and got your Case number even before u got the NOA2 hardcopy.

We tried to call NVC today, and for some reason, the rep on the phone was asking to read her whatever information that is on the hardcopy which we dont have yet... she didnt even ask for the EAC (receipt number), name of beneficiary , etc.etc.

any idea about this?

Thank you!

As I recall.... I just said I received email and SMS notice of an approved petition and they quickly asked for USCIS receipt number (WAC.... from NOA1, NOA2 same#), beneficiary name & DOB and petitioner name & DOB only, then they provided the MNL#, date received, and said it should go out to Manila within about two weeks whenever enough are ready to send off.... Maybe there was an address verification too. Also added that same info would be sent by letter so no need to call. I called in late evening, about 10pm EST. NVC operator available 0730-2400 EST M-F at 603-334-0700. Just call again....

Anyone have any experience in changing address? She has her addressed listed on the I-129F as the address she's lived at for the past 8 years, but she recently quit her job and will work on selling her things and move back with her family due to the visa. Should she put her families address when she receives the packet, call the Embassy, or what?

You can update beneficiary's mailing address at USEM by phone, as soon as they have your MNL# in system. Also, you can add an email address for beneficiary at that time. Packet is all online http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf.

Thanks, she has been using that for reference.

Do I >have< to send her my original tax returns, w2,bank account, etc or can I scan it and send it to her? I'm looking to avoid an $80 cost, but I feel I will have to send it to her. Also, bank statements, letter from job and last years tax return for the AoS should be enough, correct?

Good luck. There are many things to consider. Just a suggestion - searching the forum will lead to answers - there are several good posts around with K1 interview checklists etc. We have a stack of about 5 pounds of papers I am sending besides the I-134. A large part of this is a full copy of I-129F original submission and original supporting evidence, then the ongoing/ bonafide relationships stuff, copies of NOA1, NOA2 etc... Apparently lots of this stuff is only occasionally needed, but when it is, it is critical to avoid further delays. FedEx $100, its part of the deal. Just trying to cover everything in one package and not have to rush to send another! :D
