What kept me busy?

> Marriage life. We are enjoying our time together.

> Lots and lots of Road Trips around and outside of WA. So many wonderful places to explore.

> AOS files, then after we passed our interview, I started studying for my nursing exam.

> Waiting for my license now... just enjoying being a bum for the moment. :D

> Reading the Driver's Manual. No pressure for me to learn driving because public transportation here is everywhere.

> Catching up on TV shows... for now - Grey's Anatomy and Frasier

Before I know it...another day is over. :)

Mine..... All CSI series..... and cooking shows

I'm not yet in the US, I'm still here in Saudi, but CSI rocks!!!:thumbs:

I love that TV series. Good questions you got there, I'm thinking the same way too because I'm sure I can't find job for just a matter of month, it will take time I guess to find a job, especially at this time that America is in recession.

I'm thinking of helping my wife in everything I could. I'll do the household chores and I'll let her rest when she gets home and she doesn't need to worry about anything in the apartment.

i got my driver's license 6 months after i got here and got employed another month later. and yet i didn't get pregnant. so, it doesn't really come naturally.

Gosh, we are still working on trying to reach Claudeth how to drive. 4 year and no babies yet

Claudeth has a wonderful time spending money in Main Place Mall  We are going there tomorrow as a matter of fact

No way! She didn't get you hooked on shopping too, did she?

2nd... did my final review for my PMP exam.... done and passed the professional certification

Is that the Project Management Professional certification? You're in IT? It takes a lot of hard work to pass that certification.

Hubby passed that certification, too. He also plans to take the CISSP (?) certification but just could not find the time.

No, I hate the malls, I usually sit in the truck and listen to music and take photos of strange things going on

Arrived in the US October 2007 and travelled with my husband for a year and able to see 16 states outside of Florida. During our travels I learned how to drive via the backroads and eventually got my driver's license May 2008.

Started to work January 2009.

Now reviewing for my NCLEX exam.

Boating, fishing and camping during my off days.

Because I work 3-11 shift I am not able to watch my favourite shows like CSI NEw York , Greys Anatomy ( I worked in the OR for 8 year so I just love this show ) , Project Runway and Top Chef. But I was able to watch all episodes of Grey's Anatomy Season 5 via Netflix where George died :(

We are still doing overtime to have a baby but so far no luck yet but I am very happy and contented with my life. Having my own child will probably be the ultimate gift from God but if not ,I can't complain because my husband completes me.

Removal of Conditions :

August 16, 2010 - Petition received by USCIS Vermont Center

August 20, 2010 - NOA1 received

October 4, 2010 - Biometrics

January 3, 2011 - Permanent 10 yr. Green Card Received.

Get a DVR, jom. It will record all your favorite shows and you'll get to skip the advertisements too. You can watch a one-hour TV series in 40-45 minutes without the advertisements. Saves time for busybodies like you. I don't like watching "live" TV anymore after we got our DVR.

I once did a marathon of the "Bones" series. I watched 5 one-hour series in 3.7 hours.

Yes. Its the Project Management Professional certification. I used to work in a semiconductor company. Actually, old company paid for all my PMP certification expenses, review and exam fees. :) It was expensive.

Congratulations on your husband for passing PMP exam. Yeah, it was hard. Also, good luck to your husband for his future CISSP exam.

when i was unemployed and done with the aos stuff, i babysat for friends' kids. i honed (or at least tried to) my cooking skills. i organized our things and the husband's overflowing closet. i do the laundry. applied online (which is much convenient) for job postings i found. i visited fellow pinays who live nearby.

and now that i have a job, all i want to is sleep (after making dinner of course)! so enjoy your free time while you can. try to learn something new. :)

Yeah. Enjoy your free time. Once you started working, all you wanted is to catch some z's and you cannot wait for your next day off. :star:

Hmmmmmm..... first.... having babies is a choice.... and doesn't come naturally because you always have things around to not get pregnant.

Anyway... I am so happy that you guys doing great here.

To those who took examination for professional certification.... Are you familiar with the examination for professional engineer here? as well as professional energy management? I mean, what are the requirements for those examination?

My husband and I wanted to take an examination. But our problem is my credentials, I heard that I need to have it converted to US standard.

Please be free to give "sensible" suggestions.

you can go to a transcript evaluator such as ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators) to check if your education and licenses obtained back in PI equal to a degree here. there are many other evaluators that you can search thru the net. good luck!

ROC mailed to USCIS -- June 10, 2011

ROC approved -- November 1, 2011

finally free of USCIS paperwork!

And also, did you already mailed the survey letter that we're supposed to mail to CFO about our status here? and has anyone here changed their Philippine passport already. Thanks.

Check your State's requirements for certification. They may or may not require another agency for your Credentials Evaluation. It depends if they do their own evaluation.

Call them or check their website for the list of the requirements.

Good luck.

Maybe same as in nursing. I too need to send course syllabus, TOR to have it breakdown for a credential evaluation report and the Filipino subjects we had in Phils. must be translated to english. It's so time consuming and lot's of paper works to do but i hope soon I will receive my license...

With regarding the CFO thing I can't remember were I out those stuff they gave to us. and the reporting of marriage you could have it before your 1st wedding anniversary took place. Tho i haven't done with it I checked their website for information. and when you do the reporting of marriage then at the same time you could have your passport changed then.

Good post, I have been thinking to ask about this too. Adiiann, what is yours and your husband's major? I am Chemical Engineer, used to work in EPSON Japan but i didn't have luck for work here now, my husband said i need to take an exam but im kinda hesitant about it, I dont want to work as hard as before, spent 14 hours a day at work and sometimes I need to extend for more. I don't want to have no time for my husband anymore. Next month I will be studying health related course.....
