hi folks

My wifes removal of condition is in process, Her temp card expires 1/25/10 . Her current work

is asking for further proof of legal residency, I have seen other people here about their

processing time that it could take up to 6 months.

The employer wants to terminate her if she cannot show the new 10 yr card when the temp card

expires, does the INS offer some type of extension as proof of her legal residency, while

the paperwork is being processed?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks

Correct! The letter she will receive clearly states that that letter, in conjunction with the original card, permit employment (and travel) during the 1 year extension period. I received that letter within a matter of days of submitting my application (via the CSC). Further, my entire application process took no time at all, so your wife, once she submits her application, should have her new 10 year card rather quickly (provided the USCIS keeps up with their fast approvals!). USCIS had my completed application in hand on 9/11 and just yesterday I received the email that my new card had been ordered.

Best of luck to you both!
