Hi has anyone or will anyone file for their spouse DCF in Cairo Egypt. My husband and I have done that and now I am back in the states and we sent all packet 3 forms back to the embassy however, the embassy is sending back forms to my husband stating they need another paper and not the one we sent and I am not sure why. If anyone has filed in Egypt could you please respond to this question and I will go into more details about the papers they are sending back. Thanks

I am living with my parents in the US and my father is the co-sponsor I filled out the I-864 and my father filled out the I-864A because I am living in my fathers home and he is a house hold member does anyone know why the embassy sent back the completed I-864A and stated that they do not need that form they only need the I-864 from my father. I thought the I-864A was for joint-sponsor to fill out if we were living together? Anyone know why? Thanks

the best advise is dont ask why, just send them EXACTLY what they are asking for. :)

good luck

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

That is what I was thinking just send to them what they ask for but like when I filled out the I-864 I filled out the form and added my father's income to mine so we could combine income since my father did I-864A and we are living together but if I do a I-864 for my father then what do I do on my I-864 not add his income or add him as household count? that is confusing me cuz I know when I do I-864 and I get housemember to do I-864A u add their income and household count on MY I-864 but if he is not doing a I-864A then I am not sure what I put here. Because I am living with my joint sponsor and he is my father

So, you submitted the first 864 and just included his income to yours on 1 single 864? and then you included the 864A right?

I just searched VJ and it seems that he needs to fill out his own 864 using the "cosponsor" choice. You also fill yours out. In other words, you DO need TWO 864's...one for you and one for your father.

that would make sense seeing as they are asking for one from him. I hope that helps

So I already completed a I-864 and included my fathers income and mine together and put on my I-864 that there is 7 people in the household my mom, dad, me, my 3 kids, and my sponsored husband so if my father does the I-864 that will look like we are not living with him because I thought if you live with family member they only fill out the I-864A so does that mean I need to complete another I-864 and disregard the other one I did and not add my fathers income to my I-864 since the embassy doesnt want the I-864A. Im just so confused because I thought I filled out the I-864 and if i was living with my father and he was helping me sponsor my husband then he would fill out the I-864A

 you thought wrong.

You fill one I-864 all by yourself as the primary sponsor.

Dad fills another I-864 as joint sponsor.

My dad fills out the I-864 even though I am living with my father?

Read the instructions. the primary sponsor will ALWAYS be the spouse, ALWAYS. So yes, you fill in one I-864. Your dad fills in another one as a joint sponsor. Very straightforward.

I understand that but I thought if I was living with my father then i would be included in his house hold size and he will fill out the I-864A. If my household member (my father) does not complete the I-864A what is the I-864A for and what circumstances would you use the I-864A? Thanks

did you try and search for any info here on this? I did a 134 with no cosponsor.... Im just reaching here going on what I found here on VJ and USCIS. I understand your confusion because everything i had casually read said you do an 864 and an 864a. However, after digging for it, i saw the above which is why i said "it seems". I would try posting in the consulate or CR1 forum also you will probably get 1500 people with experience to answer you. Breath, it will be ok and you will get an answer :)

well, there ya go... people were posting before i hit submit

You seem to be quite confused. I did DCF, so believe me I know what I am talking about.

The I-864 A applies only when a joint-sponsor is using someone else's income in his household to qualify as a sponsor. Example: if you dad was using your mom's income.

The USC spouse ALWAYS HAS TO SUBMIT HIS/HER OWN I-864. always, never mind living arrangements. You dad is not a household member, he is a joint sponsor.

Yeah, what Len said.

Ok, so even though I am living with my father in his home and I have no income he does not fill out the I-864A and me fill out the I-864? And we do not combine incomes? He does his own I-864 and I do my own I-864? And how do we then determine household size if me, my 3 kids, mom and dad all live together? We sent the I-864 from me and the I-864A from my father to the embassy and the embassy said my father will only need to do I-864 but they didnt say anything about the form I-864 that I did and on that form I included my mom and dad in my household size and added my fathers income to mine but the embassy didnt say this needed to be corrected. Thanks
