The IDF has found that Hizbullah is preventing civilians from leaving villages in southern Lebanon. Roadblocks have been set up outside some of the villages to prevent residents from leaving, while in other villages Hizbullah is preventing UN representatives from entering, who are trying to help residents leave. In two villages, exchanges of fire between residents and Hizbullah have broken out.

The mena faction? I will just sit here and shake my head in amazement .

I have spent HOURS chatting with Jess as she awaits her evacuation. Some progress has been made and now she is getting emails from the State Dept.

Please, my VJ friends, pray for her safety as she goes 'on the move' Wednesday and Thursday. One of our own is affected by this war and she needs our support.

For those of us not in the know, who is "Jess"? I don't recognize the 'real' name but would probably recognize the screen name. I suspect there are others who would be the same.

Not that it makes any difference to hoping that she and her loved ones are safe during this difficult time. (F)

Just a thought. As I'm trying to learn and understand more about Hezbollah, I came across the name, Imad Fayez Mugniyah, who seems to have a track record of bombings before Bin Laden was even a household name. From what I understand, Hezbollah is not considered a 'terrorist group' by the EU, however it recognizes some of it's members involved in terrorist activities. Why hasn't Israel or the U.S. been able to nab this guy after all these years? It seems if we are to ever have a chance of wiping out terrorism, we've got to be going after the rogue characters such as Mugniyah.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Ynet. LMAO.

Ever think that maybe incidents like the following might have something to do with making people afraid to get on the roads:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5182564.stm

There are far more detailed (and horrifying) reports which the entire world is seeing (of course except Americans) which include pictures of the dead children.

As for who should pay for the evacuation of American citizens.... well isn't it obvious ? The complete cost of rescuing our people -- including the helicopters, the cruise ship, the restaurants and hotels in Cyprus, the airfares, the military escort, the whole shebang -- ALL of it should be billed to Israel.

Better yet, just deduct it from the welfare checks they keep expecting from us.

Even though Hizballah started this whole mess?

Oh wait, I forgot. You're VJs very own Hizballah correspondent, aren't ya? :luv:

I really, really don't wish to get involved in these debates but the current death toll is sitting at something like 220 Lebanese and 21 Israelis -- Hezbollah may have "started it" but Israel's response has been incredibly disproportionate.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I would have thought the hostage situation called for Special Forces not a rain of bombs on civilian targets.

Only in your delusions.

And if you had any clue, you would know that it was Israel's ongoing civilian slaughter in Gaza, with the bombing of a family picnicing on the beach as the final cherry on top, that "started this whole mess."

But oh. I forget. You get your information from Ynet. LOL.

You are quite correct on both counts.

Have "any" Hezbollah been killed by Israel's assault on Lebanon ? The dead and wounded are overwhelmingly civilian non-combatants, as well as members of the Lebanese military and police forces that Israel keeps claiming are "not targets."

"Conventional" warfare is just about useless against a guerilla force.
