Vista is bloated. It is a resource hog. Slows down your PC. Boots slow. Incompatible with so many software programs and devices. Everyone except Booyah gets these problems, cuz he is such a big stud and has a huge johnson.

Let's not violate the TOS, OK?

Make your point without insults.

Vista has worked extremely well for me....Perhaps it's that your machine can't handle it.

Sir Bill and I bought the same machines, Vista has not bothered either of us. Probably is a shame to use so many resources on just the OS, but I don't personally feel any bitterness towards Vista, nor will I spend a dime to upgrade to 7.

Rock on brother!!! Case closed!

Edit: Well, this may not be the case for everyone, we just selected a good machine that handles the resource hogging. I am not a gamer, so I cannot speak to collateral performance there.

Hehehe! Dude's with sweet Dell's can ignore the hype! I have had exactly one glitch which I personally had to deal with, and it was not too difficult, otherwise Vista has been close to flawless after a sketchy first week of operation.

The issues with vista are simple to explain. People bought Vista assuming they could run it on a commodore 64 platform. Vista was state of the art and needed the appropriate hardware. One of those being a dual core (preferably quad core), a decent 3D graphics card, and at least 4 gig of ram. Problems solved.

The 64-bit version is rock solid and was entirely 64-bit before mac could even count to 64. However, because they are Microsoft, they received zero recognition for this.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I know many people who have had no issues with Vista at all. There were many compatability issues when Vista first launched but they have been ironed out over the years. I think it got its bad rep at the beginning. My wife has it on her laptop and it is fine. I have never used it much, so I can't slam it. I am still running XP, but I will most likely end up with W-7 sometime in the near future.

Quite true. My wife has the 64 bit version with 4 gigs of ram and a Centrino 2 P 8400 and has no issues with it. And she was an XP user until a year ago.

I have Vista with only 2 gb of ram and I never had any problems with it..

the hubby has vista on his laptop too and we have had no problems with it there either..

Vista is running fine on my wife's laptop, but I don't know if I should send MS 99 bucks now or wait until they come out with SP3 for Windows 7. Use to like being the first kid on the block with a new OS, but was like being the first in line to be shot by a firing squad. Finally got DOS 6.3 near right, drop it and came out with Windows 3.0, that's when the problems began, then 95, then 98, then 2000, then ME, then XP, then Vista, now Windows 7.

Never give you a CD with all the updates, have to spend hours on the net downloading zillions of upgrades with a reboot each time, gets old and gets old quick. But what are you going to do, it's the only OS available. Well their is Linux, if you really love to spend hours on your computer trying to get it to work instead of using it for it's intended purpose.

With the history of MS, just hard to believe they finally got something right the first time, will just wait and see. The final determination is when they completely obsolete your OS forcing you to upgrade. Mostly the same old ####### again, but they change the names of everything and hide it in a different spot, okay if you like finding the Golden Key in a video game, but for me, a complete waste of time.

Hmmm, the biggest compliment a man can get is to be called a big stud with a big johnson, and it is all in fun. Booyah is the man and a cool guy. Why are you here trying to make a problem out of something that is not. I find your witch hunting insulting and instagatory. Please go dig somewhere else. Peace.

For me vista got increasingly unstable with each new update. The upgrade to service pack 1 was such a nightmare due to poor driver support in windows update that Microsoft had an entire tech team offering free support to users to apply it.

Even since then its not been problem free

Yeah, but isn't that the same group of people and corporation that developed Windows 7?

I wasn't born cynical, Microsoft helped to make me that way.

I switched off auto upgrades with XP, if the computer is working fine, leave it, the more ####### you are running the more problems you have. If I have a problem, search the net for a solution. Vista can also be switched off for auto upgrades, but took awhile to figure that out.

The problem with that is that the fixes are usually to prevent exploits used by the creators of trojans and viruses. If you don't update windows - it can affect the updates that are applied to your security software.

The big difference between Vista and Windows 7 is that 7 had a public beta testing process that Vista didn't. I'm less inclined to believe microsoft than I am to trust the word of end users who have been using the OS for months.
