Good morning everyone,

Our interview is coming up tomorrow and we're glad we're almost done with AOS (from B-2). Last night, we went through our binders one last time to double-check that our bases are covered. There's proof of:

  • a joint checking and savings account
  • 4 credit card accounts in both names
  • car insurance listing both
  • life insurance for both
  • health insurance for both
  • joint mail and magazine subscriptions
  • e-mails between foreign spouse to/from the USC's family members
  • wedding cards and gifts from family
  • photos from going out, family get-togethers, wedding, etc.
We live with family so there are no rent checks, and I noticed that only one of our photos actually shows us kissing in public.

Do you think we have enough, or do you have suggestions for anything else?

Well, I had just about the same evidence minus the Credit Cards. They'll try to determine if your marriage is legit at the interview. I adjusted from B-2/B-1 and waited 3 long months for a decision. My case was easier since we already had a baby that in itself is an open-shut case and my I-130 was already approved. Be confident and be honest. Good Luck.

PS: Dont offer evidence unless asked for during the interview. Thats a lesson I learn't.

You may want to have a letter from the family you live with stating that there is no lease and you live there together and there is no rent. We live with my grandmother and we had that letter from her and it seemed to make our IO happy to see it.

Picture of you kissing or PDA's are not necessary, as Saspk stated, they just want to know that you are a legitimate marriage, and it sound like you have the same proof we took and we were good.

Best wishes!

Thank you both so much for your feedback and your well wishes, we appreciate it! We do have an written agreement that says we live with family member XY and that we are not required to pay rent, but it's not notarized so I didn't think it counted for much. ;-)

This time tomorrow....oh dear....

Thanks for the vote of confidence, texaspanpan :-) Now that it's getting close, we don't want to leave any room for doubt, so we'll drag all our heavy binders in there tomorrow. We'll feel like mules.

That is way too enough.

I prepared alot too, but they saw none of them.

By reading Kittykisses73's post I remembered that even we did not have a lease. Our landlord knows us so we dont really have a formal contract with him. I just took a small note from him stating that we dont have a contract and have been living in this premises for the past so may years till date.

Any news about this interview?

Yes, it went very well - and they didn't even touch half of the things we brought...nor our photo album. We were told there would just be a quick review but everything looked good. Explained about removal of conditions in 2 years but did not take the EAD/I-94 (which we hope is not unusual.)

We will post the details in the section of the Local Office Reviews (Den) shortly.

Glad it went well. :) They didn't take EAD/I-94 from us either, so I wouldn't worry about that.

I am sure you will get your GC soon. There was somebody on this forum about 2 weeks ago who had the same situation and they got the email alert in about a week...

Phew, so glad to hear that! How long did it take until your online status was updated with your approval?

It took a week for the approval to show up online. Another 2 weeks for the actual GC in the mail.

CRIS just emailed me that CAAAAAARD PRODUCTION OOOOOOORDEEEEERED!

The online status shows that it was ordered on Friday (interview day) so the IO's "review" must have went quickly.

I can't believe it's all over....wow. I need to go get some fresh air.
