What's the process after filing?

Hello folks,

I petitioned my parents who were here on a tourist visa. I filed an I130 for them and they filed the rest last Sept. I see that on the USCIS website that the cases were touched.

They are in the process of getting their biometrics done for the I765 and the I485 soon. What happens next? Does the I130 need to be approved before the I485 starts to process? There was no biometrics for the travel document?

Will they get their PR by the end of the year?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

Check the processing timeline on USCIS website for your local office where they would be interviewed. That would give you an idea when you can expect a decision on your parents case.

Once they are done with the biometrics, you should be receiving an EAD card within 2-3 months.l There is no Biometrics for the Trave document. And then expect an interview letter. The I-130 does not have to be approved before the I-485 interview. It usually doesn't. If your AOS(I-485) gets approved, your I-130 will get approved with it. But if I-130 is approved before the interview, you still have to be approved on the I-485 petition during the interview process. If your parents get approved right away, they'll be handed an approval letter, otherwise they'll be sent home and told to wait for a decision in the mail. Good Luck.
