Multiple Flights, any problems with it?

My visa was approved today, and I am thankful for VJ.

We are now looking for flights to SLC.

My fiance wants to pick me up at SLC airport, that means connecting flights / switching planes. What are the problems of multiple flights on first trip to US with k1 visa?

Example:

MNL > SFO (POE) > SLC

MNL > LAX (POE) > SLC

MNL > Hong Kong > San Francisco (POE) > Salt Lake City

I hope you could tell me what problems I can encounter if I dont take one flight.

u would only be interviewed at the POE. just make sure u have ample time in between transit so u dont miss any flights. more than 2 hour in between transit should do it coz sometimes there might be delays in ur flights and those security checks can sometime be lengthy. and if u can, try to avoid transiting between too many airlines. some airlines have their own arrangement whereby they can arrange ur checked-in baggage to be check in by them (without the need of u to check the baggage out and in again). i prefer to use 2 airlines tops. 3 maybe if there's no other options.

When I have a choice between SFO and LAX for POE, I go with SFO without hesitation. I've found it much easier to navigate than LAX. No offense, but the international terminal at LAX is a dump and the minimum connections time there is longer than at SFO.

It might be worth going MNL-HKG-SFO just so you can fly Cathay Pacific. I'd put up with the longer travel time to get better amenities than a non-stop, no-frills flight on PAL (unless you pay the additional $$$ to go business class on PAL).

Your biggest problem can be missing your connecting flight. This could be caused by your flight arriving late, not enough time between flights, shortage of personnel at airport, etc.

These are all reasons why I plan to never fly NWA again.

I agree go with SFO not LAX. Reason more traffic into LAX. longer lines harder to navagate that airport. As far as connecting flights go. You will have no problems other than finding the next gate to your final stop. Just make sure you have plenty of time to make the connecting flight. When buying the ticket make sure there is 3 to 4 hours time between your POE and connecting flight. If you complete early check in with the connecting flight and you maybe able to get put on an earlier flight. Don't worrie about connecting flights just give yoursefl the time needed.
