hi everyone,

i got an rfe that i need a joint sponsor because my husband didnt meet the 125% poverty requirements. So he's sister will be the joint sponsor. I was wondering if what are the requirements to send as joint sponsor?? ex. birth certificate, w2, tax transcript, 1099, employment certificate, etc.. I really dont know which one. I just want to make sure which are the ones i really needed so i can prepare the forms as soon as possible. I need to know if the birth certificate is required because it will take time to get it from another country.. =/ Im kinda confused.

Thank you so much guys... it will be a big help.

The sister needs to prove that she is a US citizen or LPR. Her green card, naturalization cert., or biographic page from US Passport would demonstrate that. Someone born in the US could use their birth certificate to prove citizenship.

She would complete form I-864 supplying all the needed documents (tax returns, W2's, employer letter, etc.) Follow the Step-by-Step instructions for the I-864 and she shouldn't have any problems.

Best of luck.
