Hi Everyone,

I don't regularly drink tea (except when I'm sick or not feeling well), but on a recent trip to our local Tops supermarket (in New York State), I was in the beverage aisle, and I could not help but pass by the teas and noticed....

Yup, tetley and red rose tea does exist here in the USA! Lol..Oh and tim hortons' coffee and express cafes exist here too...

I couldn't find the tetley tea with the drawstring tea bags though, but I did find the tetley tea that was in those tiny tin cansiters, like the ones they have in Canada....

So yeah, if ever you're in New York State, just go into Tops...And you'll see some Canadian teas and coffee here!

Speaking of teas, does anyone know where I can find the equivalent of "dreamland/beaux reves" tea here in the USA, made by the Canadian brand "president's choice"? It's sort of a minty and herb-like non-caffene tea, that's refreshing, and comes in a small pink and purple flowered box, which says "A mellow fragrant blend of dried herbs and flowers with a refreshing hint of mint and all natural flavours/Un doux melange d'herbes et de fleurs sechees au soupcon rafraichissant de menthe et aux aromes entierement naturels." Lol..And yes, I drink it sometimes, because if helps get me to sleep when I'm sick. I have a few teabags of that left over, from a box I had for many years...will have to stock up on that next time I go over to Canada, if I don't find any here....Anyone else ever try this flavour and brand of tea?

By the way, to any of you who are bringing teas and coffees over the border, it is perfectly legal to do, and you shouldn't run into any problems about that with border officals/customs...

Overall, I couldn't help but think too, that in Canada there are more selections of teas than here in the USA....Anyone else notice that?

Now, if only I can find some choclate smaries chocolate candy here in the USA...Sigh...I hate having to smuggle and stock up on them when I go over the border..lol....

Hi JillA,

Really, I didn't know about this....Thanks for the info...

Ant, there are Wegmans in NYS, you will find Smarties at Wegmans.

Maybe the next time I go to Wegmans (lol..I even have a wegman's shoppers card), I'll have to look closer, as the last time I was there I didn't find such....

Lol..the problem is: The closest Wegmans to where I am is in Buffalo,NY...1-2 hours away from where I am living in...lol..might as well just go to Canada to pick them up....But yes, next time I'm in Buffalo (for my N-400 interview next month...a good way to celebrate if I pass?), I'll be on the lookout..and stock up here in the USA! Saves me from having to "declare" my smarties when I cross the border...

Thanks again...:) Happy tea drinking and smarties everyone!

I'm a tea drinker once in a while. I like a cup in the afternoon as a pick up, or if I've waken up from a nap. I have a box here that one of my bridesmaids bought to make iced tea out of, Lipton, which isn't bad. There is so much of it here, I might as well drink it...but my absolute favourite???? That would be Tetley's Earl Gray Vanilla! I can't find that one....

When I can finally go home....I'm stocking up!

Ah, good choice, Joyce! I'm quite fond of Earl Grey Vanilla myself.

It's funny...I don't think of myself as a tea drinker, as I LOVE good, strong coffee...but realistically, I go through phases where I drink more tea than coffee. Like my current phase!

I now live in the land of Celestial Seasonings tea and bleck... It has no flavor.

You may find this strange but my favorite tea is President's Choice. My mom bought me a couple packs when she came to visit last time so I'm good to go for a while. Peppermint and Raspberry are my favorites, depending on the mood.

Lol..I tried that tetley earl grey vanilla once...it tasted a bit off to me....too much vanilla in it?.....kind of loses the tea taste.....lol....

I just don't really think that vanilla goes with tea...(lol..maybe I burned a few taste buds or something and can't tell the difference...)

Now hot chocolate and coffee with vanilla...that's another story...vanilla..yum....

Hi Everyone,

Ok, as you may all know...tetley tea comes in different forms, in terms of packaging.....

So which form do you like and/or dislike?

-Boxed?

-In a tin container?

-Drawstring?

-Round tea bags?

-The traditional square ones?

Lol..for me, I liked the tetley tea tin containers (lol..heck, at one point I even collected such, decorated them, and filled an entire cupboard full..but that's another story....lol..I must have been really feeling unwell then to drink so much tea and to keep the containers....). I also like the round and drawstring type of tea bags too.

How about you? Which type of tetley tea tickles your tongue?

As well, do you remember those tetley tea and red rose tea television commericals? Lol.I remember one of many years ago, about two guys sitting at a table in a restaurant, drinking red rose tea, and half of the restaurant was in Canada, and the other half in the USA...Do you remember this commercial too? Do you remember other tea commercials too?

Anyways, happy tea drinking! Pip pip cheerios!

I drink Twinnings Earl Grey or English Breakfast tea here in the US. I used Kcups because I drink so much tea and I just get sick of putting the kettle on.

I don't know, Sapphire, I think I'd rather lick my dogs bum then drink Lipton tea. It's awful. (but then again, I'm really british so..)

My husband bought a bunch of Lipton tea and was drinking it..... until he tried my Yorkshire tea. icon2.gif Now I give him Lipton's when I'm mad at him.
