HCMC does not accept co-sponsors for K visa petitions. The CO does have the latitude to accept a co-sponsor, but I have not heard of that happening in my time on VJ or in talking with friends.

Can some one help me on this . Thanks

They do accept Joint Sponsors for the I-134 if their website is giving the correct info and they will need to fill out a copy of the I-134 just as the petitioner does.

Here's what it says on their website:

Original Affidavit of Support Form I-134 and the specified financial documents. Form I-134 must be signed by the sponsor and notarized by a Notary Public no more than one year prior to the date of interview and include tax records for the past year and an official letter of employment (on company letterhead) signed within the past year or a valid business license. Submit one photocopy of the I-134 form for each applicant in your family. If you require a joint sponsor, the joint sponsor must submit all documents listed above plus proof of citizenship or LPR status, such as a U.S. birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or green card.

Scroll down the page a little more than midway and you'll see the above info there.

Good luck!

Again, I will stand by my experience that HCMC has not accepted an I-134 cosponsor for a K visa petition in recent years.

Do some reading in the Asia:East & Pacific regional forum to learn from all of us that have petitioned / are petitioning for fiance(e)s and spouses through HCMC. Unfortunately the past visa fraud from Vietnam has impacted many couples.

I see, So the Embassy's website is misleading and needs to be updated on the subject of their refusals of allowing Joint Sponsors. And I do agree, no better source for correct info than from others about their own personal experiences. But experiences do vary, thats all and that is why I went there to read what their rules were and found what I found and posted it.

But since they're still stating it there in their own website, I would go ahead and have the co-sponsor fill out the I-134 if I needed one and print the above page out from their webpage to show that they have stated they accept joint sponsors. Then leave it up to the CO to accept it or not.

Question: What do husbands/wives/fiance's/fiancee's do who don't have sufficient income to be the sponsor? How do they overcome it?

Not being a smart alleck, just very curious now.

It can be a big problem for some couples, especially younger folks. Some end up marrying so that they can file a CR1 visa petition which uses the I-864 and has a mechanism for co-sponsors. Others wait until incomes improve and/or get second jobs. They really don't seem to budge on it for K petitions. It's one of the challenges due to the high fraud history at this consulate.

The latest things that many couples at HCMC are asked to produce is a relationship timeline. It isn't stated anywhere online, nor is it mentioned in packet 3 or 4. Yet, most of the blue slips request the timeline. And this request seems to be across the board, K1, K3, CR1.

Thats interesting about the 'relationship timeline', a friend had just messaged me to advise me to tell my SO to do the same. I didn't know what she meant.

Any chance you can give me and others new to this relationship timeline thing an example? Like it is it just stating specific dates such as the month/year we met, date of first meeting in person, etc., or more detailed?

The timeline has been discussed a lot with examples posted in the Asia: East & Pacific regional forum. Some are more like outlines, others are more narrative. Come on over and check out the posts.
