I just received a letter from the US Department of State advising me to fill out the Choice of Agent form.

It says I can go to www.immigrantvisas.state.gov to see if I am eligible to process this form electronically. And if eligible, just follow the steps.

Can anyone provide any information on this? I can't find anything on that website.

2/7/13 mailed I130 x 2

2/14/13 checks cashed $420 x 2

4/3/13 RFE more divorce info requested and marriage certificate(which I had already sent)

4/9/13 mailed additional info

4/19/13 I130 approved

5/10/13 NVC received

5/16/13 Called NVC and got Case #s and Invoice ID #s

5/17/13 USCIS website states: Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.

5/24/13 Paid AOS ($88.00) fee online

5/30/13 Emailed I-864 package for both kids

6/3/13 paid IV bill $230 x 2 kids

6/5/13 IV bill shows paid, DS260 available

6/14/13 CHILDREN'S PASSPORTS ARRIVED!!!!

6/14/13 filed online DS-260 for both kids

6/16/13 emailed Supporting docs for DS-260 for both kids

7/9/13 CHECKLIST for both kids...sad.png

7/9/13 checklist response sent (birth certs and passport Bio Page <again>)

8/2/13 CHECKLIST both kids

8/3/13 checklist response sent (I-864 AGAIN and paystubs - sent last 6 paystubs)

8/28/13 ***** INTERVIEW SCHEDULED***** for 10/9/13

9/11/13 Medicals completed in Toronto @ Dr. Seiden's office

10/9/13 INTERVIEW APPROVED

10/25/13. SSN cards arrived

Electronic Processing for us CR-1/IR-1 Canucks.

State Department's official site for such things.

There are actually a few threads kicking around this forum and the IR-1 forum on this subject.

You should be eligible to do Electronic Processing, by the looks of it.

That first link I mentioned has a section on "technical considerations". It gives you some tips on how to do this without having to get Adobe Acrobat...although I personally downloaded the trial version of Acrobat (which lasts for 30 days) just for the convenience of it. It's a free download from Adobe's site, though it is quite large and will take some time to download and install. But yes, it will allow you to save all the data on any of the forms.

Gordon - remember 2 things?

1. the email must come from the beneficiary and

2. the DS-3032 must be signed.

If you called NVC recently and received a 'DS-3032 kit' via email - the DS-3032 included in it is not fillable (and thus, useless , IMO ) .

My assumptions in the wiki topic is that the beneficiary and the petitioner are in seperate cities...

So, if the beneficiary has some computer skills, it's possible for the Foreign Spouse to set all of this up to OPT IN.

If that's not the case - then I suggest that the petitioner follow the stuff in the wiki page.

Either way, for this form, the DS-3032 - it's a 'fill out, print, sign, rescan, convert to PDF' cycle .

If you received a fee bill in the DS-3032 kit, it's ok to pay it online, soonish - the NVC Contractors will rehome all payments that are made to paper casefiles over to electronic casefiles.

I suggest you get cutepdf, set it up as a print driver, then once you fill out the DS-3032, print it to PDF format using the cutepdf print driver (instead of a 'regular' print driver ).

If he continues to threaten her she should call the police to get it on record.

I know someone who threatened someone once, got a warning and the second time was put in jail. They don't take threats like that lightly.
