Can the beneficiary call NVC to know if they already received the approved petition and inquire about case number assigned? If so, what are the information they gonna need and ask from you?

It's been more than 2weeks since fiance got the approval letter and was notified that the papers will be forwarded to NVC.....no notification from NVC yet...

Thank you in advance! (F)

USUALLY there is not any notification from NVC. SOMETIMES a K-1 petitioner will receive a postal mail letter stating that it's LEFT NVC.

THE BEST WAY, imo, to find out anything at NVC, concerning a K-1 petition -

IS TO CALL NVC, get a human, and inquire.

As to 'who does it' - petitioner or beneficiary - i've no idea - I'm always a fan of the USC keeping on top of things.

GOOD LUCK !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yes, the beneficiary can call.

The information they will ask for:

  1. NVC Case Number (which you won't have yet) or USCIS Receipt Number (your WAC... number from CSC)
  2. Petitioner's full name and date of birth
  3. Beneficiary's full name and date of birth
If they haven't received the file from USCIS yet, they won't ask for #2 or 3. If they have, you can ask for the NVC case number (which is also the consular case number) and find out whether the file has been sent to the consulate yet.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.
