my fiance is getting a restraining order on her iranian family. she is not safe there. from what we know the authorities are giving her a place to live for two weeks and then we are going to do all we can to find a room for rent or an apartment. i'm guessing that now i cannot send off the i-129f because i dno't have an address to put on her forms. i was wondering, can she get a p.o. box to use for this? we are ready to send off these forms but are afraid that something might be sent to her home if we can't get a change of address sent in quick enough. what do i do?

I am so sorry that you guys are having to deal with that. Nothing is going to be sent to her until after you get the NOA2. You can go ahead and put her current address on the I-129f and then send in a change of address after she finds a place to live. You can even contact the DOS once you receive the NOA2 and change it then, you have some time. For this first part of the process, your address is the most important.

agree !

sounds like this is no time to delay, just use the old address and change the address later.

One other thing...worst case scenerio, all that will be sent to her is the packet 3 and packet 4. Packet 3 she will not have to have it to file the forms needed at the embassy anyway and packet 4 is the interview letter and from what I have read on VJ the embassy has a log of the names assigned for that particular interview date so even if the information is sent to her house, she may not need it anyway. That is if you do file a change of address and they don't get it in the system in time which would likely not happen but my point is you don't have to worry about that. Just focus on getting the I-129f sent in and getting her safe... This is the least of your worries

Yes to what everyone else said. BUT also keep in mind that there are situations in which this process can be expedited. I'm not sure how though. So open a new forum titled "how to expedite:fiance in danger." I'm not sure if you send in the request to expedite after you file OR you can send it in w/ the petition. Please research this info ASAP so you can send in those papers. Please be polite enough to keep us posted on the going on's because someone else might be in the same situation and needs help. Goodluck and start posting that new form and researching or call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283
